Character's Attitude: Kana is a very withdrawn person. She doesn't usually speak unless need be or she is spoken to. Her heart is withdrawn within itself as well as her outward appearance, scared of being broken once again. She guards her feelings with a mask of blankness on her face, making her look almost ignorant. Most of the time she looks like an innocent child, and a lot of times, she acts like one. She is considered a young elf, and truthfully doesn't understand why she was chosen to be a Dragon Rider, though she is grateful for Zirath and his company. She searches for her inner self and her true personality, desperate for the feeling of security and courage.

Character's Appearance: Kana has an utterly beautiful face and slender body. Her face is practically flawless and her ears are noticeably pointed, but not so much as to be overly exaggerated. Her hair is about an inch below her shoulders, which she usually keeps tied back with a blue leather strip. She has dark blue eyes filled with knowledge and understanding, while skirted by a forest green color. Her lips are thin as well as her nose, but she is irresistibly attractive. Most men on the street stop and stare while she is oblivious to it, thinking she is very well ignored. Her body is slim and fit, fitting her clothes perfectly. She is about 6'0, only a little shorter than most men, and is muscular, but hides it with magic, not wanting to create a disturbance. Most days she wears a decorative tunic varying in color from day to day with baggy leggings under a black, decorated skirt. She wears black leather boots that go up mid-calf and are decorated by flower carvings. She also has a necklace with a dark sapphire stone in the middle of a flower that was given to her by Faeren which protects her from scrying. It takes the energy it needs from the Menoa tree in Ellesmera.

Weapons: Kana's main weapon is a dark emerald green Rider's sword that was given to her by Faelen's family. It had been in their family for centuries before Zirath chose Kana as his Rider. Faelen's family gave it to Kana as a gift before she left Du Weldenvarden. She has a white ebony bow with fifteen matching arrows. She has one dagger hidden in her belt and one hidden in her boot. She is also extremely skilled in magic.

History: Kana was born in Ellesmera to two loving parents. They brought her up, along with all the elves around them, as a child who respects the etiquette of all races and respects everyone around her. Before Faeren, her heart was open to opportunities that would never come in her life again. Her heart was open for love from everyone around her and she was as outgoing as a politician. When she was 30, she met a handsome and charming elf of the age of 34. Their personalities intertwined together, completing each other's lives and making their love very unique and true. Their hearts swirled around each other constantly, always making things fresh and new for them and their relationship. When Kana was 71, she was traveling to Kirtan for a business matter when she was approached by a strange man. He was human, which made Kana a little uneasy, because human's had not usually made it this far in Du Weldenvarden. The man gave her a dark emerald green dragon egg, then disappeared after whispering words in the ancient language. Besides the strange occurance, Kana kept the egg and it hatched a couple nights later, in which she named it Zirath. Upon returning to Ellesmera, she was met by Faeren, who wanted to surprise her by accompanying Kana back to Ellesmera. When he saw Zirath, he gave Kana a horrified look, then ran back into the forest, not to be seen the rest of the way to Ellesmera. When Kana and Zirath got back, Elves cheered and basically worshiped their steps. When Kana went to see Faeren, nobody answered the door, and thus, the shunning began. Days, and even years, after Zirath chose Kana as his rider, Kana was shunned by those friends of Faeren and the relatives of him. When Kana was 75, she was sent to the Varden to help them in their time of need. She landed in Surda two weeks after her 76th birthday. Now she desperately tries to help the Varden defeat Galbatorix even through her sorrow and pain.
Role Play Sample: Kana walks along a path bordered by flowers. The forest surrounds the path, but does not overrun it, confusing Kana. A blur in the trees catches her attention and she glimpes a man; no, an Elf. Her heart flutters as the Elf she has recognized as Faelen, walks out onto the path, facing her. His violet eyes are filled with tender love so sweet she just wants to fall into his arms. His walks towards her, his stride filled with a calm and irresistible air. He gently lays a kiss upon her lips, then suddenly scowls. His hand flies up and lands across her face, bringing blood up to the surface of her skin. The instant bruise reflects her pain inside and Faelen laughs menacingly. "I never loved you, Elf. I loved you for your heritage." Kana's eyes fluttered, tears threatening to fall. "What is my heritage?" Her voice was raspy, voicing her tears. Faelen sneered. "Death." And he was gone, leaving Kana on her knees, crying onto the flowers on the path.
Zirath nudged Kana with his muzzle, waking her from her fitful sleep. She raised as tears streamed down her face. Her hair was in a tussle and her lips were bloody from how hard she was biting them. "Waise heill." Her lips healed and she leaned her forehead against Zirath's neck, feeling the coolness of his scales. "I'm going to die, Zirath...I'm going to die."
