I have decided that each rider may have one rider's sword. The rules are as follows:
Varden riders: You may have a sword created for you by the elf smith Rhunon, as Eragon had his created.
Neutral riders: You may find one somewhere in Alagaesia, as stated by Oromis that there is an uncertain amount of swords lost across the land.
Empire riders: You may be granted a sword by Galbatorix. The king has a collection of blades he has taken from slain riders, enough for each of his own.
"Every Great Warrior wields a sword - it's usually a sword - that has a name. Either he names it himself or, once he proves his prowess with some extraordinary feat, the bards name it for him. Therafter, he has to use that sword. It's expected of him. If he shows up to battle without it, his fellow warriors will ask where it is, and they will wonder if he is ashamed of his success and if he is insulting them by rejecting the acclaim they have bestowed upon him, and even his enemies may insist upon waiting to fight until he fetches his famed blade...
