Character's name: Cortell
Character's age: 18
Character's attitude: Cortell is about the sweetest boy anyone will ever meet. He is kind, affectionate, considerate, and caring. He shows an extreme amount of understanding for a child his age. Due to his fairly solitary upbringing, he tends to be rather shy, especially among children his own age.
As the years passed after Galbatorix's defeat, Cortell grew into a strong young man. His mother married, and so he eventually had four younger siblings, all of whom he loves very much. He is probably closest to Tally, although he tries to make time for each of them. He also protects the village, knowing that one day he will likely replace his stepfather as a leader. One small weakness he has is girls; however, he doesn't let this facination interfere with his duties.
Character's race: 3/4 human, 1/4 elf
Character's appearance: Cortell has longish black hair that has a blue tint to it, an incredibly charming smile and voice, and an expression of innocence about him. He looks almost exactly like his father. Main similarity between him and his mother are his bright blue-green eyes.
Character's alliegence: Dragon Riders, Celesti
Weapons: Cortell is more than competent in wielding a sword, having his mother and "uncle" Einar as personal teachers. He has yet to own one himself; however, he knows there is an unused one that Einar holds onto. He found it one day when he was sixteen and oddly found it to be a perfect fit for him. Also, he excells at magic, although he is not nearly as talented as his younger sister Gloriann.
History: Cortell was born in Morzan's mansion in Gil'ead. Marola had hidden there from Galbatorix so he wouldn't discover the baby and use him against her. From the day he was concieved, he held a special mental connection with his mother, which was naturally very primative at first but gradually grew stronger. This mental link allows each to always know what the other is feeling.
Cortell is the son of Tyr Valentine and Marola. He never knew his father, as Tyr was killed before he was born and Marola refuses to mention him. Thoughts about his father's identity rarely cross his mind.
A few months after his birth, Marola left the Empire, realizing how evil Galbatorix was and wanting to protect her son. As a result, most of his first two years were spent flying from one place to another around the Empire, hiding from the king's servants who were hunting his mother.
Eventually, through a mostly unfortunate chain of events, he found himself in the tribe of Gladia Celesti, under the temporary guardianship of Einar. Soon after, his mother joined them and they became permenant members of the tribe. Eventually, Galbatorix was defeated, his mother was married to Marcus Celesti, and they settled down and build the village, which was named Celesti after the tribe. Years passed and his family grew, his younger siblings Daeron, Talia, and Gloriann soon coming along, with one more several years later. Cortell took his role as eldest child seriously, trying to guide his siblings on the right path. He became closest to Tally, spending the bulk of his time with her. He is most worried about Daeron, concerned about the friends he has made. As for Glory, at the moment he is mostly just jealous of her becoming a Rider, although he loves her very much.
Role-play sample: Cortell sat on a log in the forest, watching his Mamma as she sang to a tree. She hadn't always done that, but now it always made her feel happy. The tree grew a bit taller and its leaves turned greener. Rauthr was nearby, watching and humming. Suddenly, Mamma stopped her singing and looked deeper into the forest. Cortell knew she was listening. Then she turned.
"Cortell, honey, we have to go now. Come on." She picked him up. He felt her just a little bit scared as she strapped herself on to the huge green dragon. He didn't know how she knew something bad would happen if they stayed, he just accepted the fact. He knew they were come back sometime. They always did.
