OOC: Time for something...less...morbid. lol.
"All right, guys, I know its a Saturday morning, but look lively. I'm Mr. Faolan, your Driver's Ed instructor." Mr. Faolan glanced at his students, the majority, looking like they were going to pass out. "Now, to begin, I'm going to pass out the Alagaesia Driver's Handbook. Make sure you look it over; you're going to be tested on it in order to get your permit." He handed a bunch of booklets to Einar. "Here's my T.A., Einar. Einar's going to pass out the booklets, seeing how he passed his test last year, and he's also one of the mechanics on the school cars."
"We're all gonna die..." Tyr whispered to the girl beside him, making fun of Einar.
Einar passed out the booklets and then stood near the chalkboard, crossing his arms, and looking bored.
Kyler stared at his booklet with a reverent smile. This book held the keys to freedom. With a car, Kyler will be able to get out of the house and away from his dad. This. Is. Awesome.
Tristan had a wide grin on his face as he got his booklet. He gave Daemon a playful grin, and pretended his desk was a car and that he was driving it into a wall, sound effects included.
"That's enough, Tristan." Mr. Faolan looked at Tristan, unamused, but there was a small smile crease.
Tristan gave two thumbs up. "Just giving everyone a morning call, Mr. F." Tristan leaned back into his chair.
"As I was saying, Driving is a huge responsible. You are not only responsible for the car, but also yourself and the occupants inside the car." Mr. Faolan explained. "Now, that introductions are through. We're going to watch a movie that goes more in depth with what driving includes. Once done, we'll go to the school's auto shop to look at the cars. Einar and I will give the basic run down on the cars and how to signal and all that." Mr. Faolan then proceeded to roll an old fashioned TV set and VCR to the front of the class.
"Whoa, talk about stone age." Tyr commented about the VCR to the girls next to him. This better not take long...football practice is like in two hours... He thought bitterly as he placed his head against one of the palms of his hands.
Rashid was in the back, struggling to stay awake. Great...once he puts out the lights, my lights are gonna go out... He thought, wondering if he could get away with sleeping in class.
"Please, try to stay awake, guys." Mr. Faolan asked, as he turned on the TV and pressed the play button on the VCR. He then turned off the lights. Einar went to sit down next to a familiar red headed girl in his English class, while Mr. Faolan sat at his desk, listening to the TV drone about the consequences of driving. He nearly rolled his eyes as the tape showed gruesome accidents of kids who drank and drive or weren't paying attention. Really, is that necessary? He wondered to himself as he watched the students' reactions.

Daemon lazily flipped through his handbook, looking over the info that he'd been made to memorize. If his mom had a whip, he was sure she would have used it to get him to study it. She seemed almost as eager for him to get a car as he was. He snickered at Tristan's sound effects of driving, throwing in a playful silent scream of terror and a death rattle until Mr. Faolan told Tristan to stop.
From just behind Tristan, Tenel Ka shook her head at her cousin's attitude. At least the accident hadn't given him a fear of joking about dangerous things. She was looking forward to this class; her parents had promised her that as soon as she got her license, they would give her a brand new car. She was hoping they might get her a Mercedes, an S-class with all the bells and whistles. Her mom had one of those, while her dad had gone for a Lamborghini. She was sure she would love whatever they got her, but she hoped it wouldn't be anything too flashy. She hated it when she was made to show off her money to the world, knowing it would make people think she was stuck up.
Marola sat next to Tyr, trying to ignore all the girls who had also flocked around him. Every one of the eight seats around his held a female, many of whom were paying more attention to him than to the intructor. She giggled at Tyr's comments. "You'd think they would have switched to DVDs by now," she agreed with him. The instant the lights were off, she quietly scooted her chair closer to his and paid minimal attention to the stupid stories about drunk driving. Who wanted to hear about fatal car accidents, anyway?

Shaking her head at Tristan's antics, Teodora prayed for patience. Of course, it was just her luck to be stuck with the seat next to him. That boy couldn't take anything seriously! Driving had to be taken seriously, otherwise lives would be endangered! She prayed she wouldn't be stuck with him when it actually came to the driving. **
Meera sat surrounded by a group of guys. She had been planning on sitting next to Tyr, but, deciding to let Marola have her chance at him, had opted to sit apart from him. As the lights dimmed for the movie, Meera wondered if she could get away with a little harmless flirting. Too bad she didn't have an actual boyfriend. This was the perfect setting for making out. Well, minus the teacher eying everybody. He was like a hawk. ***
As Mr. Faolan prepared the class for the video, Gianna kept flicking her gaze between him and Einar. She hadn't been expecting him to be around, and felt oddly happy about it. Even more so when he took a seat next to her. Did he recognize her? she wondered. Then the video started up, and Gianna was fixated on the morbid car accidents displayed. She sucked in her breath when one car was shown wrapped almost entirely around a thick tree. "How horrible." she whispered to herself, wide eyed. She couldn't imagine how anyone in that accident had escaped alive. ***
Leaning back in his chair, booklet flipped open on his lap, Marcus chatted idly with the girl next to him. He knew Elaine pretty well, and considered her a good friend. They had had some friendly, but heated debates in previous speech classes in middle school He also knew they would be fighting for the spot of president on school council. When Mr. Faolan called for silence, Marcus and Elaine ended their conversation, focusing now on the video starting up.

Tyr smirked when her felt Marola inched closer to him, and even a few other girls tried to do the same. This was perfect. If only that nosy teacher wasn't around he could have some fun with the girls, mostly Marola since she seemed keen on him so much. But once he got what he wanted, he knew he would just move on.
*** Einar closed his eyes, bored and tired for being around here so early. He heard Gianna whisper and opened his eyes, watching her with some interest as she stared at the TV, horrified. The girl was a softy, but somehow, he liked that about her. Afraid to be caught staring, he looked away, and pretended to be interested with his desk.
*** Rashid tried to stay awake, but within 5 minutes, he was out.
*** Tristan laughed quietly throughout the movie, amused by the narrator's monotone voice and the oldness of it all. It wasn't until he watched a car get wrapped around a tree that he shut his mouth. He was a bit pale, as for some reason, that accident reminded him about another accident. He shifted uneasily in his seat, and then just laid his head down on the desk, wishing the movie would end. Man, why did everything have to keep making him feel guilty, it was an accident..and it was his fault. He knew he had paid his dues, but still, that weight always lingered.
*** "DRIVE SAFELY!" The narrator on the tape echoed as it ended. On cue, Mr. Faolan got up from his chair and turned off the tape and TV. He flicked the lights on, trying to adjust to it as he watched some stunned and bored faces across from him. "Well, that was a bit more extreme than I had anticipated. Um, to make things a bit more fun, lets all go check out the cars!" He clapped his hands together and gestured for everyone to get up. "Come on, to the school's auto shop." He opened the door and waited for everyone to file out.
*** Einar blinked away the darkness as the lights were placed back on. He gave another look at Gianna before getting up to lead the way to shop class. Blah, why did his Uncle sign him up for this? He wondered as he walked out of the room.
*** Tyr yawned loudly as the movie ended, bored and glad that it was over. "Well, that was...educational." He joked and winked at the girls around them. Some giggled, other just stared at him fondly. "So, Marola, what did we learn?" He asked in his best imitation of Mr. Faolan's voice as the class began to stand up and chatter as they exited.
*** "That sucked." Was all Tristan said. His eyes downcast. He glanced at Tenel Ka and then her arm, wishing that it was still whole. No thanks to him of course. He thought bitterly.
*** "Rashid! Get up!" Mr. Faolan called out to the boy in the back, his voice loud, but kind. Rashid grunted awake. "Ugh?" He called out sleepily. He realized that he slept through the whole thing. Opps. He gave Mr. Faolan and apologetic look, but the teacher waved it off. "Come on, come on. I understand it may be boring, but do try not to fall asleep when you read your manual, okay?" Rashid gave a nod and then hurried out of the room.
*** Okay...that was gross and traumatizing, but it was also great to know that they were going to check out the cars now. He liked cars. Hopefully, if he gets his permit, his Dad would let him buy the Prelude he spotted at a used car lot. It was at least a decade old, but it still looked cool! He had saved up all his money from work last summer in hopes to get one. It was hard work too, since his Dad would always "borrow" his money to buy booze. He wondered if anyone realized what a an abusive alcoholic their Math Teacher was....
Getting up, Kyler exited the room with some other students. "This is going to be great. I can't wait to get my permit." He told a student next to him.

Marola paid almost no attention to the movie, though she winced ever so slightly at the annoying sound of car crashes and teary-eyed survivors telling their stories. At least the narrator's voice was monotone. She spent nearly the entire time focusing on getting as close as possible to Tyr, frecuently glancing at him.
Tenel Ka watched the video closely, paying keen attention to any tips on driving they gave out. The sight of the accidents made her flinch, painfully bringing to mind the one that had cost her her arm and nearly her life. She glanced at Tristan, knowing he was probably thinking of the same thing. She would never let it on to him, but she still occasionally had nightmares about it. And because of this stupid video she would probably have another one tonight.
Daemon laughed a bit with Tristan at the video, finding it highly entertaining, though he tried not to disrupt the class. He noticed abruptly that Tristan had gotten quiet and looked over at him. What's his...oh... he suddenly remembered the event and instantly felt bad for laughing. He didn't know the specifics, but he'd heard that Tristan was somehow responsible for Tenel Ka's missing arm. With the relationship the cousins had, it was easy to forget about that.
Marola blinked when the lights came on and moved back to her desk, though she still turned and smiled at Tyr. She laughed lightly at his impersonation of Mr. Faolan; it was actually pretty good. "Hmm...We learned that sitting in a dark room is a great way to get closer to each other," she said with a grin as she stood to follow the class to the auto shop. "Oh...and drinking and driving is a bad idea...or something like that."
Tenel Ka noticed Tristan's attitude and his glance in her direction and knew her assumption was right. The accident was on his mind, too. Stop blaming yourself, she wanted to tell him, though it would just be repeating words she'd told him over and over again. It was an accident. If it was anyone's fault, it was mine. As she stood to leave for the shop, she gave him and encouraging touch on his shoulder. He had to know she didn't blame him at all for it.
Daemon glanced at Tristan when he made his comment. His friend's mood was very downcast. "I'm sorry, man," he said, glancing at Tenel Ka when she passed. "I wish they didn't have to show us stuff like that."

Closing her eyes against the sudden brightness of the lights, Gianna blinked and let her vision focus before grabbing her books and following after Einar. She wasn't sure what kind of car would be best for her. Something eco-friendly, preferably. But also something cheap. Her foster parents weren't going to lend her very much money to purchase a car. Her foster parents hardly did anything for her. Well, at least they gave her shelter, and food, she thought, trying not to be so pessimistic. She would never admit it, but, she didn't really like her foster parents. ***
Half-way through the movie, Teodora noticed Tristan place his head down on the desk. She looked at him, a little worried. If was sick, he had better not give her any of his germs. When the movie was over, she stood up and waited for Tristan to move out of the aisle. While she was waiting, she noticed Tenal Ka's silent interaction with him, and Teodora suddenly realized why Tristan was acting so depressed. Had he and Tenal Ka been in a car accident, and was that a reason why the heiress now only had one arm? Well, these thoughts would have to wait till later. She had cars to learn about, and Tristan was standing in her way. "Um, can you please move?" she asked Tristan, tapping him on the shoulder. ***
Just as the class was filing out, Cirilai inconspicuously joined the crowd, falling into step beside Rashid. She had missed the beginning of the lesson, but was relieved to see that so far the class had only watched a video. Her cheeks were flushed from having hurried over to the school. She had been checking out the woods behind her house and lost track of the time. Fortunately, not too much time. ***
"A permit would be nice." Vana agreed with Kyler. "With a car I can get a job across town and get to school early to work on the yearbook, and go out for lunch..." she trailed off, feeling like she was rambling. "It would be nice."

"I'll just be happy to get out of the house." Kyler replied honestly as he and Vana walked out into the halls.
*** Tyr laughed. "Yes...closer is indeed better." He flashed Marola his charming grin. He stood up, and as if on cue, all the other girls around him stood up as well, following him like a puppy. They all said some things, taking his attention away from Marola as they walked out of the classroom.
** Tristan stood up and then felt a comforting touch on his shoulder. He turned to see Tenel Ka, her eyes stressing for him not to worry. It looked like she knew what was on his mind. He gave her a reassuring smile. "I'm all right." He told her and Daemon. "It's just a stupid old video anyway....HEY! Maybe we should make our own!" He pitched to Daemon, sounding upbeat and cheery, like he was forcing himself to be happy. It was then he felt a tap on his shoulder an all too familiar voice asking him to move. He turned around. "Sorry." He apologized to Teodora and moved to the side. He watched her for a moment. She definitely was always uptight. He didn't like people like that. They needed to relax a bit, enjoy life. School wasn't everything. He had made it a mission his freshman year to make her laugh. So far...not even a chuckle. Apparently she hadn't enjoyed the pranks he and Daemon performed on some people...especially the water fountain gag...especially when she was accidentally one of those people who got wet. No matter, life was short, and he would make her laugh!
"Hey, Teodora!" Tristan called out to her as he started making his way into the halls. "What do you think of go-karts...or bumper cars?" He asked her randomly, although he was already working out a possible driver's ed video...
*** As Rashid was walking in the back of the class, he felt someone zip next to him. He sighed. He turned to look at Cirilai. Where have you been? He signed to her, finding it easier to do so than talking. Rashid was perfectly able to hear and speak, but his mother was deaf, so Rashid just took up signing for her, but would speak on occasion...if he had to. He was glad that Cirilai knew how to read his signing or at least his facial expressions. Her and Kunin. Rashid glanced at Cirilai's clothes, noting some grass stains. You're going to run out of clean clothes one day. He teased her.
*** Mr. Faolan and Einar lead the class to the auto shop. Mr. Faolan than unveiled four Toyota Corolla's. Each built in with a second steering wheel and gas and break pedals. "I want to thank the Fam family for donating the cars for this course...oh, Cirilai, glad you can join us." Mr. Faolan greeted Cirilai as he gestured for the students to gather in a semi-circle in front of the cars, with him and Einar in the center. "Anyways, as you can see, there are four cars, meaning that four students will be able to practice in the designated areas. We have four drivers that will be instructing you all for the next few weeks. They are myself, Einar, Romulus, and Kunin." He then gestured to Rom and Kunin, who were next to the cars. Rom gave everyone a quick wave and then opened the driver side of the car he would be tutoring in.
"Now, I will place you all in groups, and each group will be assigned to one of the drivers. They will be tutoring about the cars and driving. If anyone has a question that these gentleman (a scoff from Tyr) cannot answer, please come and ask me." Mr. Faolan instructed. "Okay, I'm going to list the names now." Mr. Faolan than got out a piece of paper and read the following out loud:
"Meera, Daemon, Tenel Ka, and Slaton - You're in Romulus' group.
Tyr, Marola, Marcus, and Elaine - You're in my group.
Cirilai, Rashid, Tristan, and Teodora, you are in Kunin's group.
Gianna, Vana, Kyler, and Diana, you are in Einar's group."
Mr. Faolan read some more names and placed them in their designated groups. Some whines were heard as some girls couldn't be in Tyr's group or that some were stuck with other people they didn't want to be in. Mr. Faolan ignored them.
"If any more students register into my class, I'll place them into an appropriate group, but so far, this is it. Now, I know what you are all thinking, why are three Sophomores helping me out? Because, they all got the highest marks on my tests and they all have their licenses. End of discussion. Now, do remember though, they are your teachers, so pay them the appropriate respect that you would show me. Now, split up and get to it!" Mr. Faolan ordered as Einar took his place next to the left farthest car. Kunin was next to him, followed by Mr. Faolan, and then Romulus.
*** Tristan shrugged and gave a sympathetic grin at Daemon as they separated. He lumbered over to Kunin. "Hey." He greeted. He glanced over at Teodora. Well at least there was a bright side! Maybe he could get her to laugh today!
*** Tyr smirked at Marola. "Well, looks like we're going to get closer after all." He winked at her as he walked over to Mr. Faolan's car. "Hiya, Teach. So, do we get to drive?" He asked hopefully. Mr. Faolan sighed, and then yelled out, "No driving today! We're merely telling you guys what's what in and outside of the car. Just the basics, mind you." He glanced at Einar, "I don't want any confused students."
"Well, that's no fun." Tyr muttered to Marola.
*** Rashid dragged Cirilai with him to Kunin's car, glad that he would be teaching them. How that man understood him, was a gift. He was just really happy that he didn't have to force Cirilai to translate for him.
*** Kyler smiled at Vana. "Hey, looks like we're in the same group." At least I know how bossy she can be...I do hope she doesn't remember the photos I was suppose to take for last night's track meet...I forgot to bring those... Kyler thought absentmindedly. Hmm, on second thought, maybe she'll force me to go over to her house to bring them...I can ditch Dad a bit longer...and get to spend more time with her! Double bonus! Kyler's grin grew bigger.
*** Einar nervously opened the doors to his car and then went to sit on the hood as his group came over. Of course, he didn't have trouble explaining about cars; he could do that in his sleep. The source behind that gnawing anxiety was that Gianna was placed in his group.

Daemon laughed when Tristan moved back to his normal self. "Yeah, we could make a video that's a lot better than this old thing. Why don't we use both bumper cars and go karts? I'd say just go karts, but the stupid employees always insist that you don't ram into each other." He checked the time on his phone. Saenon wasn't in this class; she was taking an earlier one, but he knew she would start worrying about him if the class went late. It seemed like she was always worried about him ever since his attack those several years ago. She'd watch him like a hawk whenever they were in the same room. "Man, the twin's not gonna be happy if the class runs late," he commented.
Once they were all out in the garage, many of the students began chattering excitedly. They were really learning how to drive! They listened semi-attentively to what groups they were being placed in.
Tenel Ka was glad to hear she was being placed in Rom's group. They'd gotten along well ever since the first day. She walked over to his car with a friendly smile. "Just don't instruct me to put my hands at ten and two," she told him.
Daemon shrugged to Tristan and followed Tenel Ka to Rom's car. These things were so cool...He started thinking of ways he and Tristan could rig a prank with the vehicles. Nothing too dangerous, maybe just make the windshield wipers impossible to turn off or something.
Slaton also went to Rom's car, but his mind was less on learning how to drive and more on the fact that he had to get to chess club in forty-five minutes, and then after that he had to grab his mascot suit and go to a pep rally.
Marola could feel the outraged glares at her when the others heard that she was going to be learning with Tyr. She didn't even attempt to hold back a gloating grin at them, though she was distracted when Tyr spoke to her and winked. She blushed and felt a little dizzy at his words. She stumbled a little after him, taking a second to recover her balance. She shrugged a little when Tyr complained about not being able to drive yet. "We'll get there eventually," she said with a smile.
Kunin glanced at each of his students as they were listed. He knew both Cirilai and Rashid, partly because they lived in the same neighborhood. He hadn't spoken to either Tristan or Teodora yet, but he had heard about them. The only one he was concerned about was Tristan, well-known as a prankster. He'd have to check his car before class began every week. Though the garage was locked up, you never knew if some kid could sneak his way in. He smiled at both Cirilai and Rashid as they made their way over to his car...more like Rashid dragged Cirilai over. Seemed the kid was eager to get to driving. "Hello, Rashid, Cirilai," he told them. He noted the grass stains on Cirilai's clothes without much surprise. Every time he saw her, her clothes were messed up somehow. He glanced over to Tristan as he walked over as well. "Hello, Tristan," he said. Now they were just waiting on Teodora.
Diana nervously made her way over to Einar's car, unconsciously chewing on her necklace out of habit. Einar's rough appearance honestly scared her. She decided she would stick closer to her classmates as much as possible.

Cirilai rolled her eyes at Rashid's joking, punching him lightly on the arm. She wasn't about to tell him that that had actually happened once or twice. Arriving in the garage, Cirilai was pleased when Mr. Faolan placed her in a group with Rashid and Kunin. He was a good teacher, she decided. Moving eagerly over to the car, hardly needing Rashid's assitance, Cirilai ran a hand over the hood reverently. "Hey, Kunin." she said to her instructor, who also happened to be a good friend. "When are we going to get to take these babies out on the road?" ***
Glancing behind her shoulder, Teodora narrowed her eyes at Tristan and lifted a challenging brow. "Why not both?" then strode on ahead of him. Entering the garage, she scrunched her nose against the thick smell of oil and rubber. Moving over to her assigned group, Teodora was a little afraid for what Tristan might have planned. He better not do anything stupid while she was in the car. ***
Meera was positively thrilled to be put under Rom's guidance. He was one of the hotter upper class boys. Skipping over to the car he stood by, she noticed that Tenal Ka was already talking to him. "Hello, Rom." she said sweetly, giving him a smile. ***
"Hmm. Seems we are." Vana said. Placing a hand on her hip, she added, "which reminds me. Do you have those track meet pictures? I really need them to get started on the yearbook." she looked expectantly at Kyler, fully expecting him to have the pictures. ***
Pleasantly surprised to be in Einar's group, Gianna made her way over to him and the car. She noticed a rather nervous looking girl on her way over. She didn't recognize her, and assumed the girl was new. Coming up beside her, Gianna offered her a friendly smile. "Hey. I'm Gianna. You must be Diana?" she asked as they arrived before Einar. Gianna glanced over at him, giving him a quick smile before returning her attention to Diana.

Before he separated from Daemon, Tristan gave his friend a grin. "Bumper go-karts!" He whispered to him with a wink. "Just don't tell your sister!" He called out before going to his assigned car.
Once he approached Kunin, he gave the man a head nod. "What up, man?" He greeted, glancing at the car, and his brain was already plotting some things. He wondered what the frequency for the car alarms were on...that would be funny to watch everyone screaming as the alarms would turn on randomly. He spotted Teodora and smiled. "You know, I think Daemon and I are taking up your suggestion. You want in on the video? It'll be fun." He grinned as he watched Rashid and Cirilai come over. "Hey there." He greeted them. Rashid blinked at him. Tristan mentally groaned. Oh no, not another one with a sense of humor problem. He would have to fix that.
*** Rashid held back a laugh and then signed: Kunin, please don't let her go first. She'll see a squirrel and want to jump out to play with it. He smiled widely then, teasing Cirilai.
*** Rom laughed at TK's joke. "Don't worry, I'll only make you put it on 9 and 3." He joked and placed his arm vertical, so that his hand was on 9 and his elbow on 3. "Although, I think you'll be honking the horn all the time, so I think you'll be safe at 12 o'clock." He smiled at her as Meera walked up. "Hello, Meera." Rom smiled at Meera politely. She was on the cheerleading squad, so he saw her at the games a lot. She would flirt with him occasionally, and he would have flirted back if she hadn't gone flirting with Tyr and some of the other players. That pretty much told him that she wasn't looking for a relationship, and Rom, well, he liked staying a monogamist.
*** Einar smiled at Gianna as he caught her smile. He looked at Diana, noting her apprehension. Well, he hoped it was for driving and not for him, then again, he wouldn't be surprised. He did have a bad reputation.
*** Kyler froze, even though he expected Vana to ask for the pictures. "Um...no...kinda forgot them..." he rubbed the back of his nervously. "Um, maybe I can drop by your house to drop them off?" He gave a weak smile. "And maybe the pep rally too, since their is a game tonight..."

Kunin smiled at Cirilai's impatience to drive. That was probably the most-asked question when it came to this class. "That's up to Mr. Faolan," he told her. "Today I'm pretty much just going to tell you how the cars work." He laughed at Rashid's joke. "That's what seat belts are for; if I have to, until she learns to control herself, I'll duct tape the buckle together when she's behind the wheel." He playfully ruffled Cirilai's hair. Then, when he noted all four of his students were there, he turned serious. "All right, let's get started."
Tenel Ka laughed, imagining how well she could right with her arm positioned the way Rom had directed. That would most definately be interesting. "Maybe I can drive with my arm curved around the top," she said, demonstrating. "Though that would make left turns a little hard." She glanced at Meera when she came over, giving her a smile. Then she thought of something. "Hey, Rom, we still need to plan a day to go climbing before it gets too cold."
Daemon laughed and gave Tristan a thumbs up, zipping his mouth shut to let him know he wouldn't breathe a word to his sister. Then he headed over and stood near Rom's car. "Yo," he greeted everyone, then got right to the point. "So when are we actually going to hit the road, man?"
Diana forced a smile to Gianna. She still didn't know very many of the people in town, and her natural reservations didn't help much with making friends. "That's me," she said. She glanced back at their instructor, the guy named Einar. "Um...so you're looking forward to how to drive?" she asked. She hated having to find a subject for conversation. It usually ended up being something incredibly lame.
