Character's name: Iorruna
Character's age: 87
Character's attitude: Iorruna can be gentle and kind, but in general is rough and hard. Though the dwarves who raised her adore her, the elves regard her as a disgrace to their race. However, they attribute her wild and uncivilized nature to the fact that she knows nothing of what it means to be an elf, and many of them have taken it upon themselves to train her. This, she despises. She is very easily frustrated by the politics of other elves, their slow movements and the like. However, it takes a lot to make her show her frustration, and know know she's really infuriated when she says a word about her anger.
One of Iorruna's favorite pastimes is hunting, and she will at times spend days out on her own, and she has bagged quite a few of the great creatures of the Beors, and is very proud of her accomplishments. As an experienced hunter, she has excellent tracking skills, which could be of great use to the Varden.
Character's Race: elf
Character's appearance: Iorruna has long, flowing reddish brown hair that is always in a mess. Her eyes are a neutral blue color. She is always wearing green, usually hunter or forest green, that is lined with brown. On her head she wears a thin silver circlet.
Character's allegiance: Durgrimst Vrenshrrgn, King Orik, Varden. In that order.
Weapons: An Urgal horn bow specially made for her by her family, and a large knife left to her by her birth fahter. Both of these have generallly been used in hunting.
Other Info: Her dwarf family is closely related to Iorrun, the Grimstborith of Durgrimst Vrenshrrgn.
History: Iorruna was handed over to a dwarf couple by her birth father when she was just about newborn. No one ever knew why he gave up the child, as it was obvious she was precious to him. But it possibly had something to do with the fact that less than two weeks later he was dead. Iorruna was raised as a clan secret, adored by her family but left unknown to the rest of the world. Despite their love of warfare and battles, Durgrimst Vrenshrrgn knew that to reveal the presence of an elf being counted as their family may result in a clan war that would tear their nation apart. Iorruna herself had no objection to this arrangement, perfectly content with her lot in life. She had a family, she had friends, she had a home. What more could she ask for?
When King Hrothgar accepted Eragon Shadeslayer as one of their own, however, this sparked a debate among the members of Vrenshrrgn. Should they at last reveal their elf-kin they had kept secret? Grimstborith Iorrun, as well as Iorruna herself, wanted to let others know of her, and despite a few objections, the majority agreed that this would be the right thing to do.
Upon revealing her, there was the expected uproar. However, it did not last very long, and soon everyone adjusted to her. Of course, a few clans such as Az Sweldn Rak Anhuin and their supporters completely opposed her, but Vrenshrrgn weren't too worried about them.
Eventually, news of her reached the Varden and later the elves. Every one of her kind who met her was absolutely shocked by her appearance and behavior. The attributed this to ignorance of their ways and a few of them took it upon themselves to teach her proper elven ways, despite her obvious lack of interest. At times she will go on hunting trips just to get away from those nosey, busybody elves hounding her.
She has recently gone to the Varden camp, just to see other races besides dwarves and elves.
Role Play Sample: Iorruna knelt down in the thin grass, looking at the various tracks left in the dirt. A smile touched her lips as she identified a bear, and a big one too, even for the Beor mountains.
"Are you even listening to me?" asked the elf who was standing beside her, watching disdainfully as she sat in the dirt.
"Hmm?" she asked. "Oh, yes, Nimarae, I'm listening." She stood and gave the false impression of paying attention, though her tracking skills were in full gear.
"I was just saying how very wrong it is for an elf to hunt," Nimarae said, and to Iorrun it sounded something like a whine. She gripped her bow tightly. She had seen other elves for only three days and already she was so tired of hearing this line, she felt it was starting to make her ears bleed.
"Well, then, I guess I'm just a little sinner," she hissed out as she turned and bounded into the forest, away from the insulting elf who was trying to ruin her life.
