OOC: OKAY!! THIS THREAD IS GOING TO GET REALLY BIZZARE, JUST TO LET YOU KNOW!
Tismri and Tenel Ka stood together on one of the vast plains Surda, just taking in the day. Tismri had just spent some time teaching the princess about being a Rider. Their dragons were off flying near the horizon, training in fight and flight tecniques. Tismri and Tenel Ka were just taking in the day. "You know, Princess," Tismri told her, "sometime your secret will have to come out. People will know your station among your people. You can't hide forever." "I know," Tenel Ka said softly, "but I'm not ready for others to know yet. If word gets around that I am a princess and heir to the throne, the danger to my life and Caedus's would increase tenfold." They continued in softer tones. Tismri sat alert for a second, but decided she had only heard a bee buzzing.
Out of site, hidden behind a lone tree nearby, stood Thursdell. She had heard their conversation with immense interest. Galbatorix would love to hear this. A princess from another country! And a Rider, nonetheless! Yes, he would love to learn about this. With that, the elf woman who was a spy crept silently away. Once she was back in the city, she found her horse and mounted it, saying she was going home for a few days. Then she rode to Uru'baen, to the king who expected to hear her secrets. *** When she arrived, Thursdell immediately went into the palace and walked toward the throne room. The instant the guards saw her, one went in. Her face was well known, and they had orders to report her coming to the king the instant they noticed her.

ooc: she's actually been doing this a lot lately, ILH. >.< sometimes I have to wait days, sometimes a week or longer, for her to post. It's all 'cause she's been busy with school and stuff, though, so....it's understandable.....

Daedalus and Intrepidus walked side by side for a few hours on the planes of Surda. He had been given leave from the Varden as a reward for chasing off his rival Balthazar, the traitor to the elves and rider for Galbatorix. That had been about three months before and he was returning to the Varden as his leave was nearly over. Soon he saw shapes in the sky and wondered what they could be. After a while he realized that they were both dragons and one of them was several times the size of Intrepidus, his own green dragon. He mounted Intrepidus and they took off towards the two dragons in full flight. After only a few minutes they were close enough to see the two others standing together and watching the dragons magnificent display. He could not tell if they were male or female for another two minutes. Soon the landed, not wanting to alarm the obviously powerful duo and walked the rest of the way toward the two women, stopping about 100 yards away so that they might decide if he was friend or foe for themselves and either invite him over or...he didn't even want to think of the other possibility.

OOC: She's on, but she's been busy with life and other sites. I keep reminding her I made this thread, but she's just been too busy. I guess we can continue, but without Galbatorix, the whole point of this thread is kinda down the toilet... Tismri and Tenel Ka were continuing their conversation, but quieted down when they noticed an elf approaching them from behind. Tismri's elf-like hearing heard him approaching, and she turned to face him, with a smile on her face. "Greetings, friend," she told him. Her face showed hospitality, but her ancient eyes showed a certain solemnity that never seemed to entirely fade. Her young companion smiled with equal grace and, despite missing half an arm, she accomplished a lovely curtsy.

(ooc: we will continue and wait for her to get back on. Then the point of the thread will be saved.)
Daedalus walked forward a little. He recognized this elf from more then a few fairths in Du Weldenvarden. She was an ancient, one of the oldest riders. He did not even know what to say to someone so powerful and wise. He stepped forward slowly and Intrepidus landed behind him. Intrepidus looked almost the same as Daedalus, or at least as close to pure amazement and a dragon can get, and walked slowly behind her rider as they made their way toward the old yet beautiful elf and the other women, who they didn't even really look at.

OOC: lol, Tismri's human. She's just been a Rider for so long she looks like an elf. She thanks you for the compliment, though. lol. Tismri couldn't help but smile at the look of pure amazment on the elf's face, a reaction she was used to by now. Ismrolde and Caedus dropped out of the sky near Daedalus, the copper dragon's enormous size dwarfing the others in comparision. "You may stop staring," she said in a graceful voice, with a hint of ringing laughter behind it, "I am not some sort of beautiful antique sitting in a store." She gave a warm smile to the elf, looking him over carefully. "I am Tismri, Rider of Ismrolde and weilder or Mor'ranr. This is Tenel Ka, my student and apprentice, the Rider of Caedus, son of Ismrolde." Tenel Ka gave another smile. Ever since she arrived here, the princess was getting used to not being the center of attention. She knew she deserved no more or less notice than the next Rider. It doesn't excuse his rudness to you, Princess, Caedus told her with a small snort of smoke. Patience, dear friend, patience. Let him speak with Tismri first. After all, why should he pay attention to me? Caedus said nothing in response, but simply waited.

Daedalus shook his head and lowered his gaze. He could not believe he was in the presence of an ancient rider. This was the most amazing thing he had ever experienced.
"You...How? How did you survive the attacks of the evil king Galbatorix? Are there other ancients? Why have you not attacked Uru'Baen? Why do you not help take down that traitor king?"
His amazement was now replaced with anger. He was angry with this ancients and any others that might be still alive for doing nothing to stop the king and bringing peace to this never ending war.

Tismri's eyebrows went down in a V in an instant at the child's accusations. Still, she answered calmly and clearly, not letting herself be ruled by emotions. "I survived because I was away on a mission given to me by Vrael. I was far north, past the reaches of Du Weldenvarden, visiting the very country my young compainion here is from. Yes there are other ancient Riders, I know not how many. We have not attacked Uru'baen because we cannot take on the traitor ourselves, and we have other business to attend to as well. I assure you, I am doing everything within my power to take down the young traitor named Galbatorix, so there is no need for pointless anger and frustration."

Daedalus felt shameful. He had lost his temper and shouted at a person who was arguably one of the most powerful people in the world that still lived. He turned away from the two women.
"I am sorry. I did not mean to be rude and I know you would do all that is possible to help this world. Please forgive me and my frustrations. It is just that I have a hard time watching things happen ever sense...never mind, that is no excuse."

Tismri relaxed, understanding. "It happens to the best of us, son," she said gently. "It takes a long time to learn to control your temper. I know a few nearly my own age who have yet to master the art themselves. This has been a hard time for us all." Tenel Ka looked at the elf with a curious expression on her face, wondering what he had meant. "Ever since...what...happened?" she asked, slowly approaching him. She tilted his face so he would look at her.

"My best friend, an elf name Balthazar, betrayed us. He joined with Galbatorix and became a rider. It took me a long time to accept that he had been kicked out of Elesmera, but when he joined with Galbatorix it crushed me. He was my best friend and I couldn't do anything to help him. I failed him and now his mind is twisted. During his trial at Elesmera I stood by and watched as he was accused of things he didn't do and I blame myself for his betrayal. So now it is difficult for me to watch anything happen. I need to do something about this war and I must find a way to bring Balthazar back to the good side."
Daedalus turned his head again and sat on the ground. He looked up at the sky and watched the clouds go by.
"You know, Balthazar and I used to watch the clouds and wish we could fly among them. Now that we are both riders it would be nice to do that together without fighting. I have fought him six times sense I became a rider and I have lost every time because I can't bring myself to kill him."
