Daemon nodded at Tristan's question if he was hungry. "Always," he answered. He could probably eat a whole pizza on his own if he wanted to, and hardly gain a pound. He couldn't really afford to eat like that, though. His family wasn't exactly poor, but they did have to budget their groceries every week. Sometimes hew as jealous that Tristan, while he couldn't have quite the same luxeries as his cousin, could usually get whatever he wanted. Daemon just hoped that one day he could actually manage to get into a university somewhere and maybe get him a degree that would give him more than a minimum wage job. He didn't have the brains the Saenon had. With her grades and test scores, she would probably get a full ride to the school of her choice and get her medical degree. Daemon dug through Tristan's fridge, getting some pizza and a can of Dr Pepper. He hung out here so often that he could easily make himself at home. ~~~~~ Marola glanced inquiringly at Einar. His knowing smile seemed to confirm her feelings for her. Come what may, she would keep the baby. She hesitated when he brought up his mother. "I would give anything to have known my mother, too," she said. It struck her that she and Einar seemed to have quite a bit in common, and that made this newfound friendship seem even more meaningful. She allowed him to help her out of the car when they arrived at her house. "Okay, I will," she told him, letting him know that his help would be appreciated. "Thanks so much, Einar..." ~~~~~ NEXT EVENING
It was six o'clock. Tenel Ka changed her outfit for the tenth time and stared at herself in the mirror again. This one seemed too nice for a starlit picnic. She changed into a pair of shorts and a tanktop. She considered for a moment, wondering if it was going to be too cold for this. She changed three more times before going back to that first outfit. If it was cold that night, she hoped Rom would offer her a jacket or something. She smiled at the thought of wrapping herself up it in, breathing in his scent. She found a pair of sandels to go with her outfit, and started working on her hair and make up. Before she knew it, the clock read 7:30. "Yikes!" she yelled out, hurrying to finish. He was going to be here before she knew it.

Next Evening:
Romulus dug through the pile of clean clothes, debating over and over about what to wear. It took him just a few seconds to figure out what to wear, much more time than he usually considered his school clothes. He glanced at himself in the bathroom mirror. He was sporting a dark green hue tee shirt, and dark blue jeans. He pouted, annoyed with his grey hair. He thought he always looked old with his hair color, but would never overcome his fear of dying his hair. He absently wondered if Tenel Ka thought he was some old geezer with his hair color. He patted the grey strands down, fixing the little hairs that would defiantly stick up. He didn't want it too neat, but it didn't want it running wild either. Glancing at the clock, Rom had a panic attack as he noticed the time. He had 30 minutes to pick up Tenel Ka!
Figuring that the darkness would cover up his rueful hair, Rom ran out of the house, grabbing his dark blue jack, and yelling back a simple goodbye to his amused father. "Be back later!" He yelled and hopped into his truck. He glanced behind him at the back seat, making sure everything was there. He felt his heart beat gallop madly as he started the car and went to go pick up Tenel Ka.
It was five minutes to 8:00, and Rom sat in the car, wondering whether or not to wait until 8 exactly or to knock on her massively large door. It always amazed him whenever he spotted her house; the place was like a royal palace! Gathering up his nerves, Rom got out of the car and maneuvered passed the extravagant maze of plants to her door. Taking in a quiet exhale, Rom rang the door bell. It was 7:57 pm.

Tenel Ka had just finished the last touches of her makeup and was putting some light hairspray in her hair when she heard the doorbell ring. She nearly tripped over her own two feet running down the stairs. "I'LL GET IT!" she called out, knowing it was going to be Rom. Her parents knew that she was going on a date tonight, and she wanted to get to him before her dad answered the door and started any sort of intimidation he had in mind. Because hers was the third floor of the house, it took her a while to reach the front door. She barely managed to get there before her dad, and she opened the door. Once she did, she found herself staring at Rom, momentarily unable to move and just smiled at him. "Hi, Rom," she said

Romulus waited for a few minutes after he rang the doorbell. He anxiously awaited for someone to answer the door, but no one seemed to be coming. He wondered for a moment if he should ring it again. Would that be considered rude? He debated for a another minute, nervous that Tenel Ka might have reconsidered about their date. He rung his hands together, a habit he developed since playing football; he would always do it before a game. Hoping that Tenel Ka wasn't standing him up, he motioned to ring the bell again when he heard hurried footsteps approaching. He shot his hand back to his side, trying to act cool. The door swung open and Rom felt the grin spread on his face once he figured out that Tenel Ka had answered. "Hey." He felt his heart quicken at her presence. She was so beautiful, especially with the outfit she wore at the moment. He forced his eyes to stay on her face and not stray anywhere else. "Are you almost ready?" He asked.

Tenel Ka nodded at his question, trying to hide the giddiness she was feeling at the moment. "I just need my shoes," she told him. "Come in, and I'll be right back. Whatever you do, don't let Dad intimidate you." She turned around and charged back up the stairs and began looking at the three pairs of shoes she had been debating among and she finally jumped into a pair and raced back down. She was just in time, too. Her father was just about to corner Rom. "Now, you do realize that I am allowing you to take out my little girl tonight," he was saying. "I expect you to take excellent care of her. If I find out you hurt her in any way, I will hire professionals to kill you." "DAAAAAAD!!!!!!!" Tenel Ka shrieked in humiliation, hoping Rom wasn't about to be scared off by the fact that her father did indeed have the power to do such a thing. She pulled Rom out the door. "Good night, Daddy," she called as she shut the door behind them before he could say anything else.

"Okay." Romulus' idiotic grin still in place as he watched her run up the stairs. He barely processed the warning about her Dad, when the man appeared before him. Rom's idiotic smile vanished and a cautious, but polite one was swapped for it. "Hello sir." He shifted under his stern gaze. "You have a really nice home." He began idle chatter when TK's Dad finally spoke. Rom did his best not to gulp too deeply. "Yes, sir. We're going to watch the comet shower tonight...." He thought better than to give his exact location should the man decide to hunt him down. Rom's eyes widened a bit at the threat. "I promise nothing bad will happen to her." He rushed out and was relieved to see Tenel Ka. He was extremely grateful that she rushed him out of the house. "He really loves you." Romulus observed as he led Tenel Ka to the passenger side of his truck. "Because, I know he'll hunt me down if you get so much as a paper cut." He gave her a nervous, but humored smile. "You look really beautiful." Rom complimeted her as he opened the door for her. "I'm glad you could come out with me."
