Aethelwyne leaned close, as a lover whispering in Mar's ear. "So...It would appear that all of the Empire and Varden operatives descend on the city." She laughed sweetly. "Mar do you have quarters secured in the city? I think we should go someplace more...private to discuss anything further."

Mar turned his head to her, still slightly cautious to believe anything she said. 'Very well,' he thought. 'Fate has brought me this far, and I will not start doubting it.' "Yes, I agree. Follow me." He led her through the city, winding through streets and alleys, around houses and through markets. 'Hopefully that will throw any following us,' he thought to himself. Finally making it to the docks as the sun began to show in the east, Mar showed her his hide.

She followed the assassin through the streets and alleys back to the docks. She entered his hide and looked around.

Mar shut the door behind them, then opened the drop door into his home. Jumping down, he beckoned Mica to follow. "There isn't to much room, since I only ever intended it for myself, but there is enough for you to have some privacy and not feel cramped."

She lithely dropped through the opening landing silently on her feet. Looking around she removed her cloak and waved her hand in front of her face as her hair again changed to it's flowing white and her eyes to the deep violet. "We are safe here." she asked eyeing him cautiously. He was not a person to be taken lightly and she raised her guard even more.

Mar looked at her as her guise shifted. 'She is dangerous, Mar. Don't forget it!' he told himself. "Yes, we are safe here, at least for the moment. No one knows about this place, not even my superiors."

"How do you think we should proceed next? The ball? Or do you have something else in mind?" she asked as she sat on a near wooden bench being mindful to keep a close eye on Mar.

Marola nodded, then shrank back into the bushes nearby, walking away from the house. Using her mind, she told Nerasa, I...I'm afraid our missions may end up contradicting each other. I was sent here to kill any Riders protecting the nobleman. That would include you, your friend on the other side of the house...any Riders for the Varden I can find here. I know I can't kill you, even if you weren't an elf, because of our friendship, but I don't know what to do about the other girl. Marola sat up, alert, as the girl on the other side of the house walked over to talk with Nerasa. She asked, "Hey, Nerasa, did you hear anything over here? I thought I heard a whistle, but I guess it may have been my imagination. Still, did you hear it?"

Mar sat facing Mica, though he kept his swords close by and his guard up.
Taran walked around the city, trying to find Aethelwyne. 'She said she wouldn't be gone too long,' he thought. 'But where is she?' He used their connection to feel through the city for her, finding her somewhere around the docks.

Aethelwyne felt the familiar warmth from Taran's mark upon her chest. She placed her hand over it to stifle its glow before Mar noticed it. She used their connection through the mark to see through his eyes. He was walking through the city, toward the docks. She knew that this bond of hers also allowed Taran to see through her eyes as well. She quickly looked away from Mar. She sat and thought about what she should do. Taran was nearing and Mar was suspicious of her already.

Mar looked warily at Mica, seeing her turn away. 'She is an odd one. But no matter. When we are done with this assignment, I have another,' he thought.
Taran felt the connection nearly below his feet. Opening a small hut, he carefully entered and looked around. Nothing. An empty hut with nothing but a few sacks of grain.

Aethelwyne felt her heart quicken as Taran neared. She could feel him above them in the hut. She knew that his history sailing on the seas would make him look closely at the hut. He had much experience in dealing with smugglers during those sea-faring days. For now she was trapped. There was no way out without alerting Mar and as far as she could tell he had not sensed Taran above...yet. (OOC: I know you have something up your sleeve but I can't figure out where you're going! )

(OOC: Neither do i lol. i guess you'll just have to wait and find out. mwahahahaha!!!! lol) Mar sensed someone above, though he was hard to detect. 'Sneaky one,' he thought. 'If he comes down he, he's dead!' Mar grasped one of his swords slightly, still looking at Mica. Taran looked around the room, then found a small trap door on the floor. 'She's down there, and with someone else?' he thought. 'Why would she be down there? If that man touches her, job or otherwise, he's dead!' Taran left the hut, but sent a mental picture to Aethelwyne, along with a message that he would wait for her and meet her later, no anger or frustration in his voice, only love and understanding.

Aethelwyne felt a sense of relief as Taran sent his message to her. Looking at Mar she feigned knowing anything out of the usual. Standing, she looked around as if sensing something. "What is it Mar?"
She used their bond to tell Taran to meet her at the inn on the outside of town. She would be there shortly.

Mar felt the man leave, but knew he must move his hide. "Oh, its nothing. It seems we must leave. I'm afraid we did not accomplish much tonight. How about we meet at the same inn tomorrow night?"
Taran made his way to the inn just outside of town, watching his back all the while. 'Adurthil, stay hidden. I will come to you later. Right now I need to meet with Aethelwyne.' 'Very well, Taran. I will wait, I know the bond you two have. I'm going to go hunting now, I will see you in the morrow."
