In her room, Arya paced back and forth, wondering why the King would risk killing dragons. Thinking of how she could track down the murderers, she decided to put it to rest for the night. She needed to be at her best for the morrow if she was to meet the new Dragon Riders.
*** Einar and Stigandr traveled in the moonlight, using its light as the only guide, as they made way near Surda's borders. They knew they would have to be careful, knowing that the Surdans had magicians that could track them. Einar placed a spell on himself and Stigandr, to cloak their thoughts and presence for a small time. He also placed some wards in case of an unexpected attack. Tireless and energetic, Einar and Stigandr continued on into the night, knowing that they would be near Abernon soon.

Nasuada watched Arya walk out the door, then turned to her guards. "I'm going to retire for the night. You may continue your watch outside." The guards all bowed to her, then filed out the door, where they alligned themselves on either side. As the door closed, Nasuada walked back around her desk and sat down. Sighing, she closed her eyes and placed a hand on her temple. This war with Galbatorix seemed eternal. Every time there seemed to be a break, a lead, another challenge arose, another obstacle to overcome. The dragon slayers were the newest challenge. Fortuantely, Arya had arrived in time to aid them with this particular battle. Behind her, the large tapestry rustled, and her personal servant Farica steped out from behind it, where a hidden door stood. "Come on, my lady, lets get you to bed." Nasuada smiled up at Farica, always grateful for the woman's kindness. "Thank you, Farica." ~~~~~
Elaine. Elaine! With a startled gasp, Elaine sat up, her eyes fluttering open. The hilt of her sword dug painfully into her side. What!? A sense of smugness arose from Eridor. I just didn't want you to sleep the whole day away. Scowling, Elaine got to her feet and paced to the door. What time is it? Another note of smugness from Eridor floated across the bond. Nearly noon. Elaine's eyes widened, and she hurried out of her room. In a few minutes, she stepped into the daylight of the courtyard, where Eridor watied for her, a draconic smile on his lips. "Why didn't you wake me earlier!" She said, exasperated. Eridor shrugged his large shoulders. You needed the sleep. he said simply. Elaine's anger faded, and she smiled at the large dragon. "Thanks." Coming up to him, she rested her hand on his foreleg.

Kiona and Sayu flew high above the city, so high that if anyone below was to look at them, they might be mistaken for a bird. Kiona drifted in large lazy circles, riding the thermals that seemed never ending in this warm place. They had woke just before the sun and quickly took to the air to watch the sun rise. They flew for hours together, just enjoying each others company. Sayu looked down to the city and could see Eridor moving around. Looks like Elaine might be awake. Sayu said to Kiona, the first words either had spoken to each other all morning. Well then, lets go greet them. Kiona aimed for the city and started pumping her wings for speed in her dive. Sayu held on with her legs being that they hadnt taken the saddle. Within seconds they were inside the city walls. Kiona opened her wings but let her legs take most of the shock from the fall. Sayu slid down off her back and fixed her hair. She walked over to Elaine and Eridor, "Goodmorning. Or almost arfternoon." She smiled at Elaine.

The sound of dragon wings caught Elaine's attention, accompanied with the bursts of wind. Looking up, she spotted Kiona coming down quickly. Eridor moved his large bulk to the side, making room. Elaine followed after him, keeping close to his warm body. After Kiona had landed, she steped around Eridor's leg to greet them. She smiled sheepishly at Sayu's words.
"Oh, yes, well. We had a long day yesterday." I can't wait till the bond fully reverts me to the likes of an elf. Not having to submerge myself in sleep all the time would be a relief. Eridor eyed her curiously.
Are you sure? I find sleep a peaceful reprive from the horrors of reality. Elaine glared at him. Again, he had proven her wrong. "So, how was your night?" She laughed softly. "I clearly slept well."
OOC: Yeah, Max, it is morning now.

OOC: YAY! *hops out of bed
Arya left her room, heading towards the main courtyard, where she believed the Riders were assembling. Attracting several of the guards' attentions, Arya entered the large courtyard, where she saw Elaine and Sayu conversing with each other. She then began to approach them.
*** Einar yawned loudly as they finally reached Surda's borders. Finding a nice place to hide, Einar began to plan on how he was to find Murtagh without being spotted by him or any villagers.

If Sayu answered, Elaine didn't hear her. Her attention was now focused on another elf walking their way. She was tall and graceful, beautiful beyond even elven terms, and she walked with a regal air. This elf could only be one person, the elven princess Arya. Eridor straightened up, holding his head high and his neck arched. His lage wings rested lightly on his back.
Unsure of how to act around an elven princess, Elaine resorted with a low bow. "Arya svit-kona. I am honered to meet you." Eridor only slightly inclined his head. He was not obligated to bow to an elf, but showed respect anyways

Arya smiled at the Dragon Rider. "It is an honor to meet you, as well, young Rider and mighty Dragon." She studied the Rider and Dragon. "May i ask your name and yours, mighty dragon?"

Elaine could feel the smugness radiating off Eridor in thick waves. Well, it seems I had nothing to worry about. he said wryly. Elaine fought not to roll her eyes. Instead, she bowed again to Elaine and held a hand out to Eridor. "The dragon's name is Eridor, but many people call him Stormwing, mainly because he likes to fly above storm clouds, but also because of his coloring." Realizing she was rambling, she quickly finished with, "and I'm Elaine." Eridor barked out a laugh. Clasping her hands together, she smiled amiably at Arya. "So, what brings you to Abernon?" Elaine held out her hands peacfully. "Not that it's any of my business, of course." Peace, Elaine. You do not need to be so peaceful. Although she is an elven princess, you are a rider. She really is no higher than you in status. Elaine glanced at one of his cloudy eyes. Thank you. He smiled draconically at her.

"That is indeed a fine name." She addressed Eridor. "I am honored to have met you Rider Elaine." She eyes gazed over the palace walls. "I am here to help the Varden where ever the need may be." Her eyes grew sorrowful. "Unfortunately there are dragon slayers roaming Aegleasia(sp?)." Her dark green eyes rested on Elaine and Eridor. "I trust I can count on you to do your duty as a Rider?"
*** Faolan walked the Surda castle, checking if there were any unwanted guests. He had ventured with Arya, reclaiming his birthright as her friend and guard. As one of the few elves that had arrived with her, Faolan was obligated to represent his Queen and Arya after such a long absence from human soil. He left his other kinmen to their own as he walked over to the main courtyards, where the Dragon Riders were said to go. Just then, his hawk Jade flew down and landed on the elf's left arm.
"Good morning, my friend." He petted the hawk with his finger as he headed to the courtyard.
There he spotted Arya and two dragon riders; she was already addressing one of them. Gently, he approached them. "Arya." Faolan addressed her; for she wanted no one to know she was the Queen's daughter. "Faolan. I am glad you are here." Arya smiled and pointed at Elaine and Eridor. "This is Elaine and Eridor." Her eyes went to the Rider and then to the Dragon. Faolan tilted his head forward in a small bow. "I am honored to meet you Argetlam and you Brightscales." Jade screeched a response. "Jade is also pleased and honored."

OOC: Sorry I was away from a computer yesterday and today. BIC: Sayu began to answer Elaine's question but felt Arya approaching. Kiona stood up straight and held her head high like Eridor. Sayu waited as Elaine and Arya exchanged greetings. She then touched her first to fingers to her lips and twisted her hand over her sternum. "Atra esterni ono thelduin." Sayu said to Arya. Kiona stood still next to Sayu, she only dipped her head toward Arya before holding it high again.

Murtagh stretch out on the ground where he had slept. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes he said to Thorn. "Oi! Wake up!" Thorn was standing within the blink of an eye, his head lowered and wings raised. Murtagh looked at him out of the corner of his eye. Remind me, never to sneak up on you when you are sleeping. He teased the dragon. Thorn snapped his jaw and stretched out, yawning widely flashing his razor sharp white teeth. So, whats the plan? Thorn asked Murtagh as he chewed on some bread. We are going to have to get high over the city. Scout from up there, see if we can find anything of interest. Murtagh replied. He finished his mouthful of bread and took a sip from his water skin. He then saddled up Thorn and tied his rucksack on the back. Thorn crouched do Murtagh could get on. Before taking off he placed wards around himself and Thorn. Ready? Thorn asked, rolling his massive shoulders. Ready. Murtagh replied. Thorn launched himself into the air, gaining as much hight as quickly as he could. Once they were miles above the ground they started toward the city.

Elaine's face tourned somber. "You don't need to worry. Eridor and I are bound to our duty as dragon and rider. We will do whatever neccessary." Her lips fell down in a frown at the thought of the slayers. Eridor bumped her shoulder. Chin up, Rider. Do not let your fear show, for you are strong and courageous. Heartened by the large dragons words, Elaine replaced her frown with a slight smile. At that moment, another elf swept into view. He, too, had a regal air about him. Elaine inclined her head to him, as did Eridor. "The pleasure is mine." She noticed he spoke to Arya familiarly. He must be part of her entourage. she told Eridor, who was staring at the hawk. Yes. I must say, if I couldn't be a dragon, a hawk would do just fine. Elaine grinned. "You're hawk is of fine calibur. Very beautiful." Sayu was greeting Arya now, and Elaine fell silent.

Arya returned Sayu's greeting. She was pleased that an elf Rider was among them. "I am glad that you are here, Sayu." She returned her attention to Elaine. "It relieves me to hear you say that Rider Elaine."
Faolan crept a smile-he was still not use to smiling ever since Tara disappeared, even Arya rarely seen him smile now. "She is and it would please you to know that she thinks of herself the same." He continued to pet his hawk. Jade tilted her head, staring at the large dragon.

Elaine laughed. She had never imagined a hawk could have a personality, let alone stand tall in the presence of two dragons. "I am glad Jade is so confident. She must have served you well many times before." Eridor exhaled loudly, emitting thick tendrils of smoke from his nostrils. What? Elaine asked.
Eridor glanced at her. I just find it unusual to be stared down by a hawk. Elaine smirked, looking again back to Jade. As Eridor had said, the hawk was staring at him. It's not funny. That creature should be flying away in fright! Elaine only smiled wider.
Please. You're not that terrorizing. Eridor huffed and flicked his tail, but didn't argue. He actually rather liked the courageous bird. Perhaps, if had ever eatan a hawk before, it would be different, but he made a point to not eat flying creatures. He viewed them as very distant kin.

Elva padded quietly into the courtyard. She rarely went out among people went it wasn't necessary, but she felt she needed to see some people today. She had isolated herself from all but a few for several days and wanted to be among others, though she knew it would cause her even more pain. When she arrived, Elva saw a group of people standing there. She saw Arya and one of her compainions, Faolan, as well as Elaine and Sayu. The dragons of the two Riders, Eridor and Kiona, were in the courtyard as well. They all seemed fine at the moment, which relieved her to no end, though she felt saddness from Faolan, as she always had. She wanted to tell him that Tara was fine and that she would be found soon, but Elva felt no assurance of this and she knew that if the told him that and it didn't come true, she would have caused him more pain than he would have otherwise. She stood away from the group and listened in on their conversation.
