Her plan seemed to turn on her. Elaine's intention had been to tire out the elf, but now she found that she was the one tiring. Galdrohk had turned from defensive to offensive in a minute. Sweat beaded on her forehead, her arm burned from the exertion of swinging her sword, and her stomach felt bruised. She faltered, once, but that was enough for one of Galdrohk's attacks to floor her once more. His sword hit her on the side, knocking the wind from her once more. She fell to her knees, head bowed as she regained her breath. She finally looked u at him with a weak smile. "I'm spent. Looks like you won this little match." A shadow fell over her, and she realized that Eridor had come to stand beside her. The grey dragon was staring Galdrohk down, mad that the elf had hurt his rider so. With a sigh, Elaine pushed herself to her feet and faced the simmering dragon. They talked silently for a moment, and soon Eridor was calm again. Elaine turned back to Galdrohk, sheathing her sword.

"I guess I have." he said good naturedly. The dragon had glared at him and he turned his gaze down, he did not mean to offend the creature. "But now all I have is time..." he said. Nasuade hadn't mentioned how long it could be before he had an assignment, for all he knew it could be weeks.

Elaine gave him a sympathetic look. "Tell me about it. I've passed all the training the soldiers here can give me, so now All I have to do is practice." She shrugged, "so I suppose my situation is very similiar to yours."

"It's a good thing too, not being needed means people aren't dying. What to think my sister would say to that..." he said. No one could keep Ralnka from trying to get what she wanted, if she wanted to be on duty she would go tell secrets to Galbatorix.

So the elf had a sister. For some odd reason, she had always thought of elves as having no families, but being solitary beings. Clearly, she was wrong. "So, you have a sister. Is she older than you?" She absently ran a hand down Eridor's snout while awaiting his answer. Eridor silently took the petting, even though he didn't quite like it.

"Younger by three years, she could never stand it." Galdrohk said with a smile.

Elaine raised an eyebrow, "really? If I had an older brother, I'd be estatic." I'd be estatic if I had any sort of relative, she thought sadly. An image of her slain parents came to mind, and she unconscisouly snapped it to the side, trying to get it out. Eridor eyed her with concern, then stepped closer to her protectively.

"Ralnka's a different sort of person in ways both good and bad. She would give most anything to be older than me." he said. She would probably kill me. He thought bitterly.

That's odd, Elaine thought. "I don't see why she would want to be older than you. You seem like a nice enough guy, and probably an even nicer brother." She didn't really know the elf, but from the little she did know he seemed polite and kind.

"Ha, tell her that." he said. "She would make me out as the worst and most tortursome being in all of Alagaesia."

Elaine found that appaling, that a sister should hate her brother so. "Well, I think that's awfull. A brother should be cherished, well, any family member should be cherished. Besides duty and responsibility, what could be more important than family?" Elaine fell silent, growing angry at Ralnka, even though she had never met the elf. Ralnka didn't know what she had. OOC: I like the default skin, nice.

OOC: I had to chagne it so it would be more appealing to those who hadn't already chose another of my wonderful skins.
"Well I hope I'm not going against your opinion if I don't cherish Ralnka. Cherish would definitely not be the right word." Galdrohk said.

Elaine let out a sigh. "Don't worry, I won't hate you for it. Besides, it sounds to me like your sister is the one most guilty." She leaned against Eridor's hard scales, her breathing finally beginnig to slow after the intense spar with Galdrohk.
General kell walked back onto the field after consulting with Nasuada. It turned out that people had been reporting the appearence of a shady looking man, one who they think is up to no good. From the descriptions he had been given, there was no doubt in his mind that it was the man who had stolen Eriodor's egg. Reaching Elaine and Galdrohk, he greeted them with a wave. "Well, I'm back, and with a little mission of the both of you. Normally, we would have just sent you, Elaine, but since you, Galdrohk, were asking about missions, we decided that two pairs of eyes are better than one." Elaine perked up. "What is this misison?" The general shrugged. "It should be easy enough. Elaine, do you remeber the man who attempted to steal Eridors egg, but you stopped him?" Elaine grimaced. "All too well. Creepy fellow." "Yes, well, the people have been reporting seeing a man like him. I would like the both of you to go into town and see if you can find him." He described the man for Galdrohk, who had not seen him before. "He is tall, long, brown hair, on the greasy side. Well, he's pretty much greasy everywhere. Anyways, long fingernails, crooked teeth, and dark eyes. Let's just say I think he will stand out in a crowd." Finally, he turned to Eridor. "Great dragon, I'm afraid you wil have to stay at the castle. The town is just too small for the likes of you. I'm sure, though, that if Elaine needs help you will be able to reach her without a problem. Any questions," he directed the last at all of them. Shaking her head, Elaine smiled enthusiastically. "None. I will enjoy catching this rat." She sighed as Eridor ranted about her safety. "No, don't worry Eridor. I will be okay. This is just a man we're after, nothing more. I think me and Galdrohk will be able to handle it."

"No, no questions." Galdrohk said. He was glad to have a mission so early but was unnerved to hear of the distress that had to be endured before he could.

Elaine turned to Galdrohk as William Kel walked away. "Okay then, lets go. I'm eager to get this man. If I hadn't of stopped him, Eridor may have been put into the Emperors evil hands." She shuddered. "Follow me." She gave a quick hug to Eridor, her arms encircling his neck, then stepped into the castle, taking Galdrohk through many halls before reaching the front entrance. From their, Elaine threw the hood of her cloak over her head and rushed outside, back into the frigid air. Her feet took her to the center of town, where she stopped for a moment to take a look around. There. Her eyes caught sight of a tall, familiar man walking into a tavern. She glanced at Galdrohk, "I think I saw him, he entered that tavern."
