"No, of course they do not mean harm. Tell me, what was she like?" Elaine asked, wondering about Saphira. She had heard guards talking about the blue dragon, usually with a tone or awe and reverence. Elaine hoped that someday, they would talk of Eridor that way.

"Well I didn't see much. I was part of the crowd really. I was watching when he dueled in the training fields, or talked with the forge woman about his sword. I do not know if I ever said much more than two words to him or Saphira."

Elaine was a little dissapointed, she had wanted to hear some great story. She soon realized, though, that what she had expected was a lot. Just because he was an elf, in Ellesemera the same time as Eragon and Saphira, didn't mean he had had a whole conversation with them. Embarrased by her irrational thought, Elaine changed the subject, "I heard that elves are extremely gifted in magic. Is this true?" If it was, perhaps Galdrohk could teach her a few things. Elaine was always ready to enhance her skills and knowledge. Beside her, Eridor observed the conversation, keeping his thoughts to himself.

"More gifted than others some would say." Galdrohk said. "Truly it is because we have much more time to learn what needs to be known."

Elaine nodded. "Yes, that would make sense." Eridor bumped her with his snout, and she looked at him in question. It is late, Elaine. You should get to bed. Elaine shook her head in despair. You don't need to worry so much about me. I can take care of myself. But, I'll admit your right this once. I am tired. "Well, Galdrohk, I've enjoyed talking to you. But Eridor has just pointed out to me how late it is. I think I'm going to go to bed now. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow." Waving a hand in goodbye, Elaine walked away with Eridor trailing behind.

It had taken ony 5 days for Sayu and Kiona to get to Surda. They circled high above the city of Aberon then dove suddenly. Sayu reached out with her mind to find any one who might wish to hurt them. She was well aware that Murtag also rode a red dragon, there for they didnt want to be hanging over the city too long. With a snap Kiona opened her wings and began beating them downward to slow their decent. A tall man came strodding out of a neaby building followed by 12 gaurds. Sayu jumped down from Kionas back and greeted the man. "Kvetha Fricai, I am Sayu, and this is Kiona. We have come from Ellesmera and wish to speak to Nasuada, leader of the Varden. We mean you no harm and wish for none in return."

General Kell took long strides down the castle corridor, trying to reach the outside as quickly as possible. A red dragon had been spotted, and the only one of that color that anyone knew about, belonged to Murtagh. As he walked, he pulled together a small guard, twelve soldiers with knocked bows. He spoke to them over his shoulder. "Do not shoot unless I give the command, or the rider is clearly intent on destruction. This may not be an enemy." After that, the only sound was the tapping of their footsteps.
Finally, the General reached the castle gates, just in time to watch the dragon land smoothly. The first thing he looked at was the rider. It was a woman. He immediately relaxed, even more so when she spoke elven. He raised a hand, signalling for the soldiers to lower their weapons. He then addressed the rider with a smile. "Excellent! I was unaware another rider was in Ellesmera. Quite excellent." He fell silent and looked the new comers over. The dragon was large, the scales a beautiful shade of red. The woman, Sayu, was clearly an elf, and therefore, would be a formidable foe. "You wish to speak to Nasuada, you say. She is a busy woman. However, I'm sure she can find time in her schedule for a rider." He then bowed deeply to Sayua and Kiona. "General William Kell at your service." The twelve soldiers were still behind him, so he quickly waved them away. Each of them bowed, and then dispersed. "Well, follow me argetlam. I'll take you to Nasuada." He backed away and waited for Sayu to dismount. "Sorry Kiona, the halls are to small for you. I'm afraid you'll have to stay outside."

Sayu watched with mild intrest as the the 12 gaurds bowed and back away. At his word of leaving Kiona outside, Sayu gave the general a stern look. Kiona swept her head over and looked at Sayu in the eye. Fear not, what can these humans do to me? I'll be alright. Tell Nasuada that I thank her for her hospitality and wish to meet at her earliest convenence Sayu reached up and held her hand on Kionas nose. As you wish. I wont be long
Sayu turned to the General and motioned him to lead on. "You have very well trained men General. Though I doubt their arrows would have worked against me, nor if I were Murtag. Perhaps after I speak with Nasuada I might be able to help you with your defences of this city."

The general inclined his head, accepting the riders words. "You speak truly. Our defences are still lacking. However, we usually have at least one rider within the castle, ready at a moments notice." He began walking, making his way into the castle. "Of course, any ideas you have are welcome, shur'tugal." He fell silent then, and the only sound to be heard was again the tapping of shoes on tile and the swish of clothing. As he strode down corridors, he pondered where Nasuada might be. He eventually determined that the varden leader would be in her own quarters making plans. Thats where he would take rider Sayu.
At the door to Nasuda's room, the general inclined his head in greeting to the two guards stationed there. "Hello men. Please, inform Lady Nasuda that she has a Rider here to see her. Rider Sayu from Ellesmera." The soldier he addressed saluted, then stepped into the room. A moment later he returned. He spoke to Sayu. "Rider Sayu, the Lady Nasuada is ready to see you. General Kell, she also sais you may enter as well." The general smiled. "Excellent." He walked past the soldier and held the door open for Sayu. "Right this way please argetlam. Lady Nasuda awaits."

OOC: Kiona is the dragon haha! i'm Sayu BIC: Sayu entered into the study of the Varden leader. She walked right up the the desk and bowed. "Greeting Nasuada, I am Sayu, rider from Ellesmera. I come here at the request of my Queen to assist the Varden where my prowers will be needed. Kiona, my dragon, would also like to thankyou for allowing us passage, and she wishes to meet you when the time is best for you." Sayu looked at Nasuada, she had heard from Eragon that her skin was like ebony, but she didnt think it to be quite so dark. She got a glimps of Kiona in the court yard being surround by a group of wide eyed people. One brave child even darred to approch her tail which she flicked away as a mother cat would her kitten. Sayu alloud herself a small smile before returning her attention to Nasuada.

Nasuda sat at a wooden chair, facing the door. So, an egg had hatched for an elf in Ellesmera. This was excellent news. That put the Varden ahead of the empire, rider wise. A small smile spread across her lips, but she quickly smoothed her features as the new rider walked in. As the rider and General Kell walked in, Nasuada got to her feet. She inclined her head deeply to the rider out of respect. "Greetings, rider Sayu, General Kell." Straightening back up, she looked the rider in the eye. "I am very grateful you have decided to assist us, the Varden. Your presesence will be a great asset to us." Nasuada glanced at a large clock on the wall. It was still early, and she didn't have to meet with King Orin until another hour. "Shur'tugal, I would love to meet the dragon Kiona as soon as possible." She held out a hand, signalling that the rider should lead the way. "I'll follow you." General Kell stood a bit in the background, watching and listening. He was pleased the meeting went well, and that the lady Nasuada had time to meet with the dragon. At the varden leaders last words, he spoke up. "Allow me to show the way. Our rider may not know her way around the castle very well yet." The general winked good naturedly at Sayu. He watched Nasuada nod her head, then turned and began down the hallway. OOC: Sorry about that Andowen. I modified the post, so it should be correct now.
