Stigandr snapped the creature's neck and let it drop towards the ground as he made his way to help Eridor and Elaine. The creatures seemed to be numerous and he wondered how so many came to be here all at once.
Stigandr spotted Eragon and Saphira fighting nearby. He was impressed by their combating skills and made a mental note to try that with Einar. His thoughts were divided as he slammed against another Fanghur, clawing and ripping at it. After a moment, he kicked the beast aside and opened his mouth. You will not best a dragon! stigandr yelled as a pool of flames erupted towards the accursed creature. Burning it to a crisp, Stigandr felt the thrill of battle, for he had not fought like this in ages. He grinned dragonically as he bolted at a Fanghur who was headed at Saphira's flank. Slashing into the beast before it snipped at Saphira, Stigandr dragged the beast into the air with various hoops and barrel rolls.
Down below, Einar felt the exhilaration of Stigandr's fight and yearned to be with him. He stared up above, his hands trembling, wishing to unleash its befriended blades and taste the blood of the Fanghur.
Slamming the Fanghur into the trees, Stigandr laughed, which sounded like glass shattering against a forge's fire.

"Yeah, well, I don't care," Max said, carrying her,"I can't do anything, and you dont need to be flying right now. What else are we supposed to do, huh?" He kept walking, his body sore from the Fanghur attacking and lack of energy. However, he just pushed it out of the way and ignored it. Marola had taken a really bad fall, and barely survived it. She needed time to rest, at least, and he intended to get it for her.

Marola glanced toward the city Max was carrying her to, shaking her head. "Okay, there is something really humiliating about this," she said, leaning her head against his shoulder. "I mean, I just made it a point to show the Varden what an enemy I could be and here I am being carried back into the city. I'm never going to live this one down." She looked back at Max. "You do realize that if you're seen with me, the Varden will never trust you, Maxel?"

Max simply shrugged. "What do I care?" he said, smiling down at Marola as she leaned her head against his shoulder,"I don't work for them, do I? I'm a freelance mercenary Rider who protects people from bandits when nobody else will. That's what I do. "If tehy try to interfere with me doing that....then....that's their problem. I'll fight against them to protect innocent people as well. "And I'm sorry if this is humiliating, but....what else am I supposed to do? Can you think of anywhere else you can go without riding on Rauthr?"

Marola shook her head. "It's just that if you're seen with me, I'm afraid the Varden will think that you're and Empire Rider...and they might attack you or something." She groaned a little, still feeling every sore bone in her body. "Pain is never fun," she commented.

Max gave Marola a reassuring smile and started walking again. "Don't worry about me, Marola," he said,"I've gotten out of tighter spots than this before. You are looking at the man who stared down a group o 13 bandits all alone and then had to fight them and came out on top. I can manage to get myself out of the Varden camp if I need to. "So, don't worry about me, okay? I'm more worried about you. We wouldn't want Cortell to lose his mother, now, would we?"

Marola shook her head slightly at Max's stubbon bragging. "Yes, but were all thirteen of them Riders?" she asked, wincing as pain pounded through her brain and into the rest of her body. "Don't worry about me. I've had worse. I'll be back home to my kid soon. In fact, that's where I was headed before you popped out of the sky with those oversized, wannabe dragons chasing you."

Max shook his head. "I worry about you, Rolie," he said,"I really do."

Marola narrowed her eyes up at him. "I told you not to," she said. "There's enough worry in the world as it is."

Max shrugged as he continued walking with Marola in his arms. "Think and do what you want," he said,"I can't help it. I care about you too much, Rolie. Sorry if that's not what you want, but....I do."

Zak touched Rauthr's scales, then looked into the large dragons eyes. "Rauthr, do you ever wish you had someone to love?" He smiled slightly, not sure of where he was getting at. He just needed someone to talk to.

(ooc: I'm not really sure of the setting of this but I assume it is outside. If that is wrong then I will edit.)
Balthazar saw Marola and Rauthr off in the distance and he dove down to meet her. Silva landed with a resounding thump and Balthazar jumped from her back.
"What happened? Why are you being carried? I know I have been gone a long time but I did not think that we would meet again under these kinds of circumstances."
Balthazar thought back to when he had helped Marola hide from Galbatorix when she was with child. He remembered the things he had given her that had belonged to her mother and father. She had been a friend to him and he had not seen her in some months. Now he found her being carried by a man and not knowing what was going on. He thought that something might have happened to her, or worse the child he had never even met but had played a part in helping it to be born.

As Eridor sprialed to avoid one of the assaulting creatures, Elaine caught sight of an emerald dragon landing near Marola. Suspicion flared in her mind, alerting Eridor. Bashing the fanghur with his tail, he leveled out and swooped low. Shall I land? he asked, his face a bloody snarl. Yes. But warn the others! Releasing a long and rumbling roar, Eridor clasped down his wings and dove towards the empire riders below. The one was familiar now, and he and Elaine both recalled the elf who had claimed to be varden but was empire. Eridor growled ferociously, outraged that the elf show his face in Surda again. We must not attack until we know the situation! Elaine warned, bent close to Eridor's gray neck. He has not come under truce! He flys no white flag! He is enemy, and I will treat him as such! Elaine closed her eyes in frustration, but knew she could not sway him in his current state of mind, then one that had earned him the title Stormwing. With a flurry of wind, Eridor stretched his talons out towards the emerald dragon, Silva.

Max looked up and his eyes widened as he saw a gray dragon diving for the one that had just landed near him and Marola. "LOOK OUT!!!" he yelled, running as best he could out of the way with Marola in his arms, trying to shield her from harm. MAX!!! Teinaava shouted, knocking the last Fanghur out of the sky and then turning, diving towards Max and Marola, determined to protect them from the aggressive dragon.

Marola's eyes widened when she saw Silva land. She hadn't seen Balthazaar or his dragon in months. She very nearly jumped out of Max's arms despite the pain. She also nearly shrieked when she saw Eridor diving for Balthazaar. "Are you crazy, coming so close to Surda like this?" she asked him, "You're going to get yourself killed! I don't need to have someone else having a near-death experience today. I've already had one. I'm fine, though." She wasn't really angry with him, but she knew there could be danger with being so close to so many of the Varden's dragons. ~~~~~ Rauthr stared into Zak's eye for a moment, then responded slowly. Sometime... he said, But most of the time I am content with Marola's company. She and I love each other in a way that is unimaginable to anyone not bonded as we are. He noticed the large grey dragon going on a rampage and diving toward Silva, who had recently landed. He nudged Zak with his wing in that direction. You better get over there. I don't like the way old Stormy is diving at Rola.
