OOC: *whistles* Oh, look! Babies! Tenel Ka did her best to withhold her groans. This pain was something completely new to her; losing her arm was a pinch compared to this. She grit her teeth and obeyed the midwife's instructions. She wished Rom was allowed in here; men were always told to wait outside, as the birthing room was no place for them. Finally, it was done. The exhausted queen fell back against the bed, feeling tired and pained, but accomplished. Her baby girl was nestled gently into her right arm, and the boy was put against the remainder of her left. The twins was considered a good sign in the royal family. The boy would be brought up to protect his sister with his life, as she would be the prime candidate for the throne. Tenel Ka smiled down at the two of them as she felt herself starting to drift toward sleep. "Welcome to the world, my little ones," she whispered to them as she waited for Rom to come in.

OOC: YAY!!!!! lol Now, I'm just wondering if you want someone else to play the boy?
Romulus withheld from pacing back and forth outside the birthing room as he waited on the news of Tenel Ka and his child. He was filled with anxiety and was a bit annoyed that he wasn't allowed inside with Tenel Ka. So, instead, he waited right outside the door, his hand pressed against the frame and took a composed stance as he closed his eyes. Lucky for him, he could use magic. Opening his mind, Romulus felt the different and strange, minds of Ismalians. He could never get use to their minds screaming out at him from their lack of training; a point he had mentioned once or twice to his wife and the Court. Concentrating, Rom pushed passed the minds around him to locate the one. He smiled. He could find her anywhere. Gently, as he knew she was in deep pain and concentration of her own, Rom caressed her mind with his own, letting her know that he was there. His face contorted as he could hear her struggled screams and even sensed them through his light probing; he did not like her to be in any pain at all.
It seemed like hours had passed since he finally sensed her pain lessen and he could hear the cries of his children. Children! Rom's heart did an excited jump. There was more than one! A broad grin spread acrossed his lips at the thought. They had twins! His eyes snapped open, eager to get inside to see his children and wife. It was then, he started to pace.
"Come on, come on..." He muttered, once again annoyed that he wasn't allowed in there. Just as he was about to charge in there, the midwife appeared. She congratulated him and was about to tell him he had twins, when he rushed passed her and into the room, his eyes focused on Tenel Ka.
He spotted his wife quickly, as well as two little bundles on each of her arms. The broad grin remained as he stared at all three of them with all the love he possessed. He quickly, but quietly as not to disturb the babies, went to Tenel Ka's side. She was as radiant as ever, in his humble opinon. "They're perfect..." He whispered to her as he gazed at them, "...just like their Mother." His lips kissed her forehead. He then proceeded to gently kiss each of his children on their heads. "They're so beautiful." His eyes threatend to tear at the sheer happiness he felt. "Can I?" He asked, hesitant to hold his children.

OOC: Well, you can play him if you want. Or if Trinn is at all interested, you may have to rock-paper-scissors her for it. lol
Tenel Ka gave Rom a tired, happy smile as he came in. She giggled lightly at his first compliment toward the children. "I think they got their perfection from their father," she mentioned, joy radiating from her face as she stared up at her husband. She turned her gaze down at the two tiny people she held, both sleeping happily. "They really are," she agreed with Rom. They were so beautiful; she was so amazed by this blessing. At her love's request, she nodded, motioning for him to choose when he wanted to hold first. "Now we really do have to decide on the names," she said. They had been playing back and forth for months on what to call their firstborn. Of course, Tenel Ka planned to give the girl a traditional name of Ismalian royalty. As for a boy, names were even less settled. She smiled. "I still think she should be named Teza Mae," she said. The second name was what they had really been unable to agree upon. Li, Mae, Ka, Ne and Sai had all been tossed between them. She wondered if she and Rom would fianally settle on one.

OOC: I'm not sure yet...still trying to decide if I want to be kind and let people play the kids...or if I want to be overprotective and play them instead...lol...and thats for all of the kids. lol
Excited, but nervous, Romulus reached toward their son, as he was closest to him, when Tenel Ka gave her approval and encouragment. He tenderly lifted his son up and held him in his arms. He gazed down at the boy. "I love Teza Mae." Rom replied to the name of his daughter. "It suites her." He gazed over at his wife with a bright smile. It was amazing to have all your dreams come true. A feeling of pride and love filled Rom as he looked over his children and wife. At the mention of a name for his son, Rom pondered in silence for a few minutes. "I still would like to name him after my father." He told her. "Jason. Although, I'm still not sure on the second name. We could have it Mae, so that it can be kinda like a generation thing...you know, so everyone will know that they were ours." He smiled tenderly at his little boy. "Thank you, Tenel Ka..." His eyes beamed back at his wife. "Thank you for my dreams." He bent over her and kissed her.

Tenel Ka smiled, her life more complete than she could ever have imagined. She held Teza Mae close as she relaxed, the lingering pain from childbirth still leaving her exhausted. "Jason," she said, nodding, "I think that's perfect for him." She closed her eyes as she heard Rom thank her. "Thank you, Romulus...for making my life complete," she whispered. ~~~~~ "Daddy!!!!!!!" Teza Mae squealed as she ran for her father. The members of the court smiled at the princess' antics. She brought so much life to the palace that had been missing. "Daddy, Mamma said she wants to go visit Algasa!" she informed him. She had never been to the home country of her father and had always been excited for it. The five-year-old girl had such an explorative nature and had already seen most of the surrounding countryside of Freia that the prospect of somewhere completely brand new sounded like such fun.

Romulus was inspecting the latest report of the Kingsley home when he heard his little girl shouting across the palace. He chuckled at the sound and just as he was placing the papers down, he spotted his daughter bounding toward him. "Whoa-there!" He grabbed her under her arms and lifted her up to him, carrying her steadily so they were now eye level. "She does, does she?" he gave Teza Mae a playful look. "Hmm, what do you think - should we let her?" He asked her as he began to head toward the throne room.

Teza Mae shrieked out with excitement as her father lifted her into the air, giggling like mad. She had a mischievious smile on her face when he asked if they should let her mother go. "Only if we go with her," she asserted. "Mamma can't go visit somewhere far away without taking us with her!"

"Hmm, but what if we went off without her? Do you think she'll like that?" Romulus asked her as they reached the throne room doors. The guards noticed his approach and immediately opened the doors for him and his daughter. Romulus entered the lucious room, daughter in arms. His playful grin grew wider as he spotted his wife. He noticed Dastan was nearby as well, ever the stalwart guard. He approached Tenel Ka, still speaking to Teza Mae as if his wife couldn't hear them. "I think we should run off without her; just us and Jason. What do you think?"

Tenel Ka felt a smile spread across her face as she saw Rom enter the room, their daughter in his arms. Every year seemed to grow their blessings with their children. Of course, the first few years had been absolute hell trying to keep Teza Mae from being murdered by one family member or another, but they had been expecting it, and the Queen Mother was relieved when she realized that her daughter had been born with the same natural instincts she possessed, knowing how to stay alive despite almost impossible circumstances. She stood from her throne and approached Rom and Teza Mae, listening to their conversation. "But she could catch up with us!" Teza Mae reminded her father. "Caedus can fly her faster than we could ever get there!" "That's right," Tenel Ka added in, reaching out for her daughter. "And then when we caught up, Caedus would grab you all up," she lifted Tezan Mae into the air and swung her around, "and fly us all off to Alagaesia together." Teza Mae giggled as her mother held her close, wrapped one arm around her mother and reached the other out for her father. "Well, except he might leave Daddy behind, since it was his idea to leave without us." The queen chuckled as she walked closer to Rom, her gray eyes sparkling with amusement. "What do you think of that, Mr. Bright Idea?"

Romulus' eyes twinkled as Teza Mae said that Tenel Ka could catch up with them with Caedus. "But we are Kingsley's! We can't be beat easily!" He assured his daughter as he caught Tenel Ka's gaze and gave her a playful wink. He tenderly passed Teza Mae to her mother as she reached out for her. He watched their interaction with a tender affection and smiled as his daughter reached for them to come close together. He willingly obliged and gave Tenel Ka his best charming, but impish grins at her last comment. "Hmm, I think Mommy is right, Teza Mae, it wouldn't be nice to leave her or Caedus." He wrapped one arm around Tenel Ka and the other around his daughter, encircling them both, but his trained eyes were targeted on his wife. "Perhaps I need to be punish for that idea, hmm?" A suggestive eyebrow lifted as he leaned in to kiss his wife, chuckling all the while.

Tenel Ka relaxed in her husband's embrace, with just them and their daughter. She smirked slightly at his suggestive attitude and met his kiss. "Mmm...yes, I'm going to punish you well later," she said with a wink. For the absolute briefest of moments, her eyes reflected an unfathomable sorrow. She remembered what no one else did; the betrayed look in his eyes as she once mercilessly killed him. He was so shocked and sorrowful, and then he was gone. After she had used the Emeralds to bring him and Caedus back, no one remembered that she had even done it, not even Tristan or Teodora. The burden was hers alone, and she never told anyone, not even Rom or Caedus. Occasionally she still had nightmares about it, but she took care to shield her thoughts even in her sleep, her excuse being that she didn't want anyone mentally attacking her while she was off guard. That moment vanished at her daughter's tugging on her arm. "But Mommy, Daddy didn't do anything wrong!" she said, her eyes wide with fear of what she might do to him, "Don't hurt him, please!!!" Tenel Ka smiled, quite amused at her young girl's ignorance, and glanced back at Rom. "Well...I don't know, Teza Mae," she said. "I still think he deserves some kind of punishment...just a little flogging?" Teza Mae shook her head violently, her eyes growing even bigger. "No, Mommy! He's really sorry, right, Daddy?"

Romulus tried not to laugh at his daughter's pleas for his safety. "Of course, I am very sorry." He assured his daughter and then locked eyes with his wife. "I'm very very sorry." He whispered to Tenel Ka before stealing another kiss. "Please forgive me?" He asked, his voice low as the arm that was around her drifted upward to caress her back. "Mm, Teza Mae, can you go find your brother really quick; I need to speak with your Mother for a moment." Romulus asked his daughter, wanting to talk to Tenel Ka privately. He had not missed that flash of sorrow in her eyes. It was ever brief, but it had always bugged him that she would not confide in him. He was there to comfort her and to bring her happiness, any thing but always caused his heart to hurt.

Tenel Ka felt her heart race faster as Rom kissed her again, his hand carressing her back. Even several years and two kids didn't change how he could affect her so. She smiled as he pulled away. "Very well, I shall let you off for now," she told him with a meaningful grin, "but you better not believe you are getting away so easily." She put Teza Mae down when Romulus told her to go find her brother, and turned back to her husband. She didn't miss the wondering look in his eyes; he had noticed her slight stumble into the past, the unreality she had created. Not wanting to address the issue that was still too painful for her to even think about, much less discuss, she turned her eyes back to where their daughter had scampered off. "They're growing up so fast," she commented with a small sigh.

Romulus' watchful eyes carefully studied Tenel Ka. Her body language was tenser than a moment ago. She probably knew what he was about to discuss with her. Why did she desire to bear this burden alone? Had he not told her that he would always be here for her? He was willing to be her rock - her foundation - if only to bring her happiness. He watched her as she turned her gaze away from him to follow their daughter. "Aye. That they are." He nodded as he took her hand in his, while the other free hand gently went to her cheek, pressuring it lightly so she would face him again.
"What ails you, my heart?" He asked. "You know that I don't miss those looks of distant sadness, or the night terrors you have. What is causing you unhappiness? I am always here for you; let me bear your burden as well." He told her gently. "It pains me to see you in any pain."
He honestly hoped it wasn't something he had done. Maybe he wasn't doing enough around the palace and that was causing the nobles grief, and thus, they pestered Tenel Ka. His wife knew how much he desired to be of some use to her and wouldn't say anything to him should he not be doing enough. If those vultures were pestering her, Rom would have a strong word or two with all of them! They would not treat his wife so! And he will do more! It was all he could do with his two hands. He wasn't going to sit idly around, mooching off her status. No, he was willing to prove to everyone that he would take care of his family with his own two hands! He worked daily with the Ambassadors and the Royal Guards, as well as the management of his estate back in Alagaesia; ranging from his workers, finances, goods, trades, and the horse breeding he had boomed there. Needless to say, Rom had become quite the entrepreneur; under the last five years, the Kingsley estate's worth had increased 100%, if not more. No, Rom refused to be a burden to his wife.

Tenel Ka sighed at Rom's words; this was why she loved him, and adored him. And this was why she was bearing this burden alone. How could she tell him the truth? When she slept, or occasionally let her mind wander too far, it felt like the first reality was pressing downward on her, suffocating her. She had trained herself to put a mental block over it, keeping herself out of those thoughts consciously. She turned down her eyes from her wonderful husband for a moment, the man who would do anything to prove his love and devotion to her. "I never did tell you how I got my memory back," she said slowly, "Back when I had entirely lost it. And I never told you what happened to the Emeralds, either." She shook her head. She could still be forgetful even now, names and faces escaping her for short periods of him, but she knew those images were going to be embedded in her mind forever. She turned her eyes back up to him, shimmering with tears and showing fully the weight of the sorrow she bore. "I...I can't tell you what happened," she said to him. "It is far too painful to put into words. But...maybe for a moment, I can show you..." She took several long, slow breaths to steady herself, knowing that what she was about to do could temporarily drive her mad. She only hoped it wouldn't have that same effect on Rom. She took his hand and closed her eyes, opening her mind to his. Then, after taking another steadying moment, she dove into those forbidden memories that she had tried to lock away. She couldn't lie to Rom, and now that he had asked her outright, she knew it was time for him to know that terrible deed she had done. She relived the moments when she'd first left Tristan and the others, having burned the letter from Romulus without anyone noticing. She struck out to build a new life for herself away from these harrassing people. She let Rom feel her frustration at everything from that moment, to let him understand her motivations for doing so. Then she wound her way through meaningless days until Caedus cornered her, pleading with her to return to the Ismalian camp. When he lunged at her, attempting to carry her back by force, the images of the memory became choppy. Tenel Ka had done everything she could to not think about that moment, but for Rom to understand, she had to show him. She reacted out of terror and anger, reaching for an Emerald and summoning an enormous bolt of lightning that struck the dragon dead in an instant. And she felt no regret about it at the time. More days passed, until she came upon the day Rom himself had tracked her down. His pleadings seemed to echo Caedus' and he wanted her to just talk to him. Again, the memory blanked out several moments, restarting and going over again as Tenel Ka relived sliding her knife across Romulus' throat without any regret. Her memory paused on his face, the infinately sad and betrayed look in his eyes haunting her mind, maddening her. She couldn't bear it.
In the present, she was shaking in Rom's arms uncontrolably. The force of the memory was so strong and so traumatizing, that she was left babbling almost incoheriently. She was stuck dwelling on that memory, for a moment unable to pull herself back to the reality she had created, with Romulus alive and well, and holding her in his arms.
