Taran smiled at her. "Do you believe in magic? Dragons?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. "If you do, but don't believe much in dreams or prophesy, then how can that be? Both dreams and prophesy are magical, just as dragons."

Elyria looked away from him. "I would prefer to know the past and leave the future to unravel on its own." She was thinking about her own past.

Taran saw that he had overstepped his boundaries. "I'm sorry," he said, turning away. "I did not mean to be argumentative. I...I did not mean to bring up anything uncomfortable."

Elyria turned to face him again. "I am sorry. I did not mean to sound so rash. It's just that I have no control over my past. No way to find out how I came to be where my adoptive parents found me. My future, however, is mine to decide. No prophesy or dream shall direct choices that I make. I decide my fate, my future. It is the only certainty in my life." She smiled softly, trying to alleviate his discomfort.

Taran smiled softly. "I think I understand," he said. "But our past is who we are. Without it...we are strangers to ourselves. Never be afraid of the past."

"Therein lies my quandry Taran. I have no idea who I was born as. Only what I have become."

Taran looked at her from across the clearing. "Elyria, you will find out someday. That I know for certain. Do not ask me how I know, I just do," he walked over to her, standing arm's length away. "And, there is another like you that also struggles with the past. I have seen her in my dreams. And I believe this belongs to her." He pulled out a small flower with no truly defining attributes. "This may seem an ordinary flower, but it links me to her. I know it."

(OOC: Ah. That is soooo swwweeettt. You have Aethe's flower.)
Elyria looked at the flower he held in his hand. The small purple flower exuded some form of magic from it. She could feel it. It seemed...familiar somehow. "How did you come upon it?"

(OOC: be quiet! its a way to bring Aethe into it. lol. hehe! i have a plan!!!!)
Taran looked at the flower, as if it would reply the memory for him. "I was walking through the forest many, many years ago. When I was still considered a teen in elven years. A soft breeze came flowing through the forest of Du Weldenvarden, and this flower seemed to be the object of its power. I heard someone calling out through the flower, but I didn't know who. I think now it is the woman I have seen in my dreams, though I cannot be certain if she even exists," he took a breath, rubbing the flower between his fingers. "I carry it with me everywhere I go."

(OOC: ok. lol it's still sweet.)
Elyria looked at him as he spoke. 'He has love in his heart for a woman he has never seen or met? I can see it. Strange.' She smiled. "That, my friend is a beautiful tale. I hope for your sake that it ends well."

Taran blushed, then put the flower away. "Thank you," he said, trying to hide the heat from his face. "Now, since I've told you a little bit about myself, what about you?"

"I can't tell you much I am afraid. I was found as an infant along the trail from Kuasta to Ceunon. No note, nothing except this bow and quiver of arrows. My adoptive parents found me and took me in as their only child."

Taran nodded, listening to her attentively. "I see. Well, there is time for you to make your own future and past."

After a few minutes, Jeriah felt she needed to be alone for a while. Are you sure, Oranthor asked. Yeah, I'm sure. I need to think about what all has happened today. She gave the large orange dragon a hug around his snout, then backed away and waved as he took off.

"I think I shall have to return to the Varden soon." she said changing the subject. She looked out over the forest. She had been gone longer than she planned.
