Jeriah jumped on Oranthor and together they flew into the thick, wild forests that covered Beirland. Taran fled with Andurthil. Soon after, they landed in the woods, hiding from whoever was coming. Taran quickly came through the forest near them. (Sorry, hope this isn't god-moding) "What...Who are they?" Jeriah asked.

Taran ran through the forest, following his dragon as quickly as he possibly could. He emerged into a thinner portion to find Jeriah and Oranthor sitting before them. "They're raiders, men who kill and steal for a living. We must stay hidden until they have gone." OOC: its fine. i wasn't sure where i was going to go anyways. lol.

Jeriah gasped and sat back. She heard men running toward them. She shrank back against Oranthor and reached for her bow, though she hoped she wouldn't have to use it. SHe climbed and stood on Oranthor's leg, then saw three terrified looking men, who she guessed were part of Taran's crew, and eight rough, angry men enter the clearing they were in.

Taran shouted to his three crewmen, then drew his own sword, a Tachi, an ancient blade. He prepared for the raiders to attack, falling into a defensive stance. He reached for his magic, readying himself for its use. The mark in his chest glowed brightly, giving him an even more frightening appearance. His crewmen stood beside him, swords drawn, facing the raiders.

Jeriah stood from Oranthor's front leg, high above the heads of the men below. She quickly drew her bow and aimed, gritting her teeth. She would not kill these men. She quickly shot one man in the leg, then another through the shoulder. Her aim was always true; she had many years of practice with her bow. THe men cried out in unexpected pain from her arrows. She stopped then and sat down on Oranthor's leg, while he growled at the rest of the men.

Taran stood to his full hight, walking over to the wounded men. Placing the tip of his sword at on man's throat, he kicked away his weapon. "Give me one reason why we should let you live, you pig!"

Once Jeriah saw what Taran was about to do, she jumped down. "NO! Don't kill him. He's not done anything to us, and he can't defend himself since he is hurt." She knelt by the man's side and worked on loosening the arrow from his leg.

Taran looked at Jeriah, shock and anger in his eyes. "This man would have gladly killed us! Why would you offer him what we would not receive?" Taran walked away, trying to calm himself. 'Is she a fool?!? If he escapes, he will tell others where we are, and we will face many more than three,' he thought to himself.

Jeriah broke the arrow that was stuck through the man's leg. "Now," she told him, "This is going to hurt a little." She pulled out the arrow carefully, then placed her left hand over his injured leg. "Waise heill," she murmured. The hole through the leg was healed, the torn muscle knit back together. Then she turned and did the same for the man with the arrow through his shoulder. "I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't want to hurt you," she told the men. Then she turned and once again sat on Oranthor's leg. She turned her gaze to Taran. "If we killed them, would that make us any different from them?" she asked him softly.

Taran looked at Jeriah, still angered and frustrated. "Yes, we would still be different. They kill for pleasure, for sport. I only kill out of necessity, when they would kill me. There is a difference between murder and self-defense," said Taran angerly, sheathing his sword and scouting the area.

Jeriah shook her head and looked at Oranthor. I don't understand him, Oranthor. He would have killed a man who had no way to defend himself, no way to fight back. How could that be self defense? No...no, I don't understand him at all. You will in time, small one, Oranthor said, sadly.

Taran continued to scout the area, making sure no one had followed them. After he was satisfied that no one was near, he returned to where Jeriah and the dragon's were. Walking over to Jeriah, Taran lowered his head slightly. "Jeriah, I..uh...I'm sorry. I...I know it's hard for you to understand. I should not have gotten angry."

Jeriah listened to Taran's apology. She reached under his chin and lifted his head so he looked into her eyes. "It's all right, Taran. I don't understand why you think as you do, but you have your reasons." She smiled at him. "You have no need to apologize to me." She dropped her hand and sat down again, still smiling.

Taran looked at Jeriah, grateful that she had forgiven him. 'Oranthor, I'm sorry to you also.' Taran sat on the ground, near Jeriah. "Now, what shall we do about them?" Taran said, gesturing at the raiders.

Oranthor hummed. Apology accepted, he said. Jeriah looked at the two Raiders still sitting at the edge of the clearing, eyeing Oranthor fearfully. "I imagine the best thing to do with them is keep them here. I don't want anyone else coming through here. Maybe we can convince them not to tell the others about us."
