Lathem laughed with her. "I kinda forgot about him. He'll come and look for us when he wakes up." OCC: Shortness

OOC: shortness is cool. Mica holds the record for shortest post ever. lol Jeriah relaxed her head against Lathem's shoulder again, cuddling close as she watched the burning stars overhead, feeling safe and secure next to Lathem.

Lathem stroked Jeriah's hair, his face giving off an emotional light that shone like a candle in the darkness. He felt free. Ah, love. What a wonderful thing. Lathem agreed with the dragon.

Jeriah gave a contented sigh, turning her head over. She gently kissed Lathem's cheek, finding his hand in the dark and grasping it ever so tightly, never, ever wanting to let go.

Lathem smiled and looked up at the moon. A sudden question arose in his mind. "The moon doesn't have love." He frowned and ran his finger along Jeriah's arm. He turned his head over and kissed Jeriah's forehead. "I was miserable before I met you. But now....now I am free of that life." He tucked her hair behind her ears and kissed her again. "I am now happy. With you."

Jeriah smiled at Lathem's kisses, watching the stars, then looking into his red eyes. "I'm glad to have given you such joy, love. Before I met you, I was simply a happy child with her own happy veiw of the world. I was like that even after I met you. Then, when you left, I was so confused. When I heard what happened to you, I..." her voice cracked slightly, "I was a mess after that. I cried all the time. Every time I began to feel happy again, you would come to mind. My heart was broken, Lathem. Even after months with the Varden, trying to train and put my life back on track, wanting to convince you that you were on the wrong side, my heart was never whole again. Until I found you again. You were...not in the best of shape when I found you. You fought me off when I tried to heal you. But when I saw you again, I felt the one piece of my heart fall back into place. I am so glad to have met you, Lathem. You complete me." When she finished speaking, Jeriah reached up and touched Lathem's face gently, then kissed him passionatly and lovingly.

A tear slipped down Lathem's cheek, falling onto the rock below and slowly, but surely making it's way to the river that the waterfall fell into below. "Oh, Jeriah!" His voice faltered, too choked up from the tears. His sobs convulsed his body, the muscles underneath his skin knotting up and tensing over and over again. "I.....I didn't mean to cause you so much pain, love." He looked over at her from puffed up eyes and tear stained cheeks. "Am I really so lovable that you must have your heartbroken over me?"

Jeriah reached up and wiped away Lathem's tears. "You're even more loveable than that, Lathem. I would gladly bear all that pain again for love of you. I love you, Lathem. I really do." She gave him another kiss, her own tears beginning to fall. Tears of joy for being reunited with her love. Tears of sorrow for his spirit's imprisonment to Galbatorix. And tears of hope, that he would one day soon be free and they would be married.

Lathem smiled slightly and kissed her gently, leaning back on the large rock again. He looked up at the stars and smiled, a shooting star flying across the sky. He looked over at Jeriah out of the corner of his eye, and smiled, his cheeks starting to hurt from smiling so much. "I suppose we should be getting to bed soon. It's getting later by the second." He got up and stretched, groaning at his sore muscles.

Jeriah got up with him. "Yeah, I guess we probably should." Jeriah looked up at the shooting star. She always believed that if you wish upon a shooting star, it would come true. In her heart, she wished that Lathem would be free of Galbatorix. Right at that moment, it was the one thing she wanted. She turned and held Lathem's hand, giving him one last kiss for the night as they entered into Ganer's small hut. "I love you," she whispered in the dark.

OOC: okay. This is kinda a double-post though, so sorry, Trinn! Just doing as I'm told! Jeriah was asleep in minutes, but it was far from restful. At first her dreams were foggy, nothing really making sense except that they were full of sadness and pain and love. Then something finally stood out. Jeriah was lying on a table, unable to move. All she could see was the high ceiling of a fancy room. She felt tremendous pain over her heart and she felt like crying. Somewhere nearby, she heard a woman's voice asking, "Is this love?" A few minutes later, Jeriah heard herself saying, "I love you, Lathem." After that-- Jeriah awoke with a start, gripping the sides of the mattress she was lying on. She was covered in sweat and panting hard. She looked around. She was still in Ganer's hut in the Beor mountains. She saw Lathem lying nearby. The sun was just rising in the east and it was still very dark in the valley. Too disturbed to go back to sleep, she got up and walked outside, tears falling as she tried to understand her dream.

A sudden disturbance in Lathem's mind, he awoke. He sat up, noticing Jeriah wasn't there. A sudden thought crossed his mind. It was dream! The presence of Zamah denied the thought though, sending it spiraling out of his mind. He got up and peered out of the door, seeing Jeriah's back going up and down from silent sobs. He moved forward, putting his arms around her waist. "It's alright, love. We're here. Together."
