Taran woke to the rising sun, though he did not want to leave. Aethelwyne lay close beside him, and he could feel her happiness, see her dream. Putting his hand on her shoulder, Tara whispered into her ear. "Time to wake, dear," he said softly. As she opened her eyes, Taran sat up. Before she could say anything, he looked at her. "I saw it too."

Aethelwyne smiled, still feeling the joy the dream had left her with. She looked into his eyes, the happiness shining brightly within her own. She rose, stretching. "Is it time to go?" She arched her back and stretched some more.

Taran rose, stretching his own back. Sleeping on the hard ground after so many days in a bed is not easy to get used to. "Yes, I'm afraid so," he said, rolling up his bedroll and blankets. "We will have to skip breakfast for now. There is a place not too far from here where we can stop to eat."

"That is fine love. Whatever you say. I'm not very hungry right now anyway." She walked to him, ruffling his hair, and lightly kissed him upon the cheek. The air was brisk as she pulled her long, black fur cloak from Doc's saddle where it had been secured. Pulling it around her, she placed the hood over her head and looked to Taran. The black of the fur shone in sharp contrast to the white of her hair and skin.

Taran looked at her, studying how she shone beneath the dark fur. "That looks good on you, Aethe," he said with pride. "Makes your face stand out even more." He gave her a slight kiss, then climbed atop Adurthil. "Are you ready my love?" he asked, reaching down his hand for her.

Aethelwyne reached up taking Taran's hand as he effortlessly picked her up. Once atop Doc, she touched his face, looking into his eyes, she kissed him. She lay her head against him, nestled in his embrace and the dark fur and made ready to resume their journey.

Adurthil shot off into the air, heading more east now. 'Almost there, Adurthil. Follow that mountain ridge, you will find it. It is high, so you may not be able to fly us all the way up there.'

Aethelwyne felt the temperatures falling as the cold and the wind began to turn her cheeks red and sting her skin. She pulled the fur snuggly around her and settled closer to Taran for warmth. "How much farther love?"

Taran felt Aethelwyne pulling the fur closer about her, felt the cold as if he were in her place. "Awhile yet, my love. Another hour and we will reach a place where we will walk to rest of the way...and eat," he said with a smile as his stomach growled for food.

She settled in and drifted back to sleep in his arms, wrapped warmly in the fur, his embrace, and his love.

Adurthil landed softly, not waking Aethelwyne. Taran carefully took her from the saddle, setting her on the ground. He began to unpack everything they would need to walk the rest of the way, furs, sticks, food, blankets, shovels, and extra shoes.

Aethelwyne slumbered on the ground, wrapped in the fur, where Taran had laid her. Her dreams vivid in her mind.
Aethelwyne struggle with the birth of the twins as Taran helped her. Taran handed her their son, then helped his daughter to be born. Wrapping her, he came close, embracing Aethelwyne and his children. The door to the home was pulled from it's hinges as Nashante and Galbatorix entered. Nashante went after Taran to distract him. Galbatorix descended upon her and in her weakened condition she was not able to offer resistance. She felt the pain as his sword found flesh, piercing her heart. She gasped for breath. She felt the heat from his breath upon her cheek as he spoke to her, then laughing maniacally, he turned and left the home, taking the children with him. With a wave of his hand, the black magic sprang forth. The home erupted in an inferno of flame.
Aethelwyne awoke quickly but tried to hide the dream from Taran. 'It was not a vision.' she thought. 'Only the worries in my mind coming to light.' Sitting up she closed their bond, attempting to block this from him. She looked at him but her smile was weak and her eyes held a hint of fear. "Where are we?" she asked

Taran smiled when Aethelwyne woke, but he could sense something was different. He could not feel her as clearly, as if a wall had been put between them. "We are an hours hike from the spot," he said. "We should be there soon. Aethelwyne..." He cut off, looking down. He concentrated, but could not feel her true emotions. "What is it you are trying to hide from me? If you truly do not want me to know, then that is okay. But please, don't shut me out."

Aethelwyne thought for a moment. 'It was only a dream, though the pain felt real.' She looked into Taran's face as she felt him reaching out to her through their bond. She could feel, almost a hurt as he touched the barriers she put up.
"I am sorry my love. It's nothing. Stupid fears from a stupid dream. You have enough on your mind without the frivolity of my dreams. I am fine really..." She released the barriers she had put up. Once again feeling the cold steel of Galbatorix's blade as it pieced her skin. Her heart beat quickly as she gave a gasp.

Taran sat beside her, putting his arm around her. "Very well, love," he said softly. "It is something you want for yourself, I will not take it." He kissed her forehead, then continued getting their things ready.
