After a few minutes with Lathem, Jeriah suddenly remembered Oranthor. "Darn it! I told him I would be back!" She said, laughing a little in spite of herself. She reached out and connected with her dragon. Oranthor, Lathem took us to the Spine. I Believe you know where. Ah, I could have guessed. Caleb and Balvir are coming with me. Jeriah was a little troubled by this news. Only she, Lathem, their dragons, and Jahag knew where their home in the Spine was. But she let it pass. Caleb was a friend. He wouldn't tell Galbatorix where they were, she was sure. She looked back at Lathem. "Okay, he's on his way," she told him, "And he says a friend of mine is coming with him." Jeriah settled back into his arms, her love for him lighting up the entire room.

Caleb rode on all day to find where Jeriah was in the Spine. Caleb slowly made the circle in a clearing, and finally found the house.

Lathem held Jeriah in his arms, a tear slipping from beneath his eyelid. Their only place that no one else knew of was about to be discovered. Lathem felt weird. Like everyone could see right through him into his heart. The sheet had fallen. Lathem was discovered. The sensitive young man cried silently, not wanting to meet this friend. But it was too late. He could feel another person's presence. Not just any person. Lathem could feel his presence. A man.

Kalri stirred slowly, the pain in her head now gone. She looked around as her vision slowly cleared. Sabonth in her bed beside watched concerned. 'What were you thinking? You could have been killed.' Kalri looked upon the black dragon, stroking the red star upon her forehead. 'I couldn't bring the force of the magic back under control. Father had stepped in between me and my target. I had to release it or be consumed by it and I didn't want to chance hitting him.' Kalri rose from her bed and dressed. 'Sabonth, we need to make ready to go. Father wants the girl and the boy found. I will assemble a group and then we will go. Make your preparations.' Sabonth lowered her head in understanding.
Kalri made her way into the hallway. She would need to find Mar and Marola. Three Riders should be enough to accomplish their goal. She proceeded down the corridor in search of them.

Jeriah was hesitant to leave Lathem's strong hold, but she knew she had to go to Caleb. She gave Lathem a final kiss, then went downstairs. When she saw Caleb, she gave him a smile. The guy was practically an older brother to her. As the light shined off her skin, she walked over to Caleb and gave him a hug. She could think of no words to say, so she stood there, the three guys who meant more to her than anyone else in Alagaesia with her: Oranthor, Lathem, and Caleb.

Kalri made her way slowly through the halls to Marola's quarters. She could have sent a messenger, but did not want to summon her. She wanted to ask her to join her on the mission in person. Knocking upon the thick, wooden door, she waited silently for an answer.

Caleb jumped off Balvir's back and ran over to Jeriah. "This is impressive my friend. Now where's the man that you died for? I really want to meet him, I didn't leave him on good terms last time." Caleb said, thinking back to that dreadful day.

OOC: Jealously abounds! lol, it's gonna be interestin getting Caleb's mind off of Jeriah and on to Marola. lol Jeriah smiled at Caleb, grabbing his hand. "He's upstairs. This is his house." Jeriah gave a little laugh as she blushed. "Sorry if it seems messy. Neither of us have lived here in over six months." She climbed back up the steep stairs, her legs burning by the time she reached the top. She had forgotten just how hard these stairs were to climb. Strangely, though, she didn't feel her heart pounding like she would have if she did such work as this. She shruged it of as she opened the door. "Lathem, I would like you to meet Caleb. I met him a couple of days after I joined the Varden, and he's been a great friend. Caleb, I would like you to meet Lathem. My fiancee and the love of my life." Jeriah glowed ever brighter as she thought of the words. Love of my life...and death. ~~~~~ Marola was sitting on her bed inspecting her knives when she heard a knock on her door. One of her daggers was beginning to get a little blunt, so she decided to sharpen it. "Come in," she said, "It's open." Then she said a spell that made the blade as razor sharp as the day she got it. Satisfied, she laid it aside. I'm going to have to find the rest of those double-sided traitors before long, she told Rauthr.

Kalri entered Marola's room slowly. She still wasn't quite herself after having the ceiling collapse on her. "I am forming a detail of three Riders to go after Jeriah and Lathem. I wondered if you would like to be included?" She needed someone who was cunning and good with magic and a sword. "Father wants them apprehended and dealt with."

Marola's eyebrows furrowed as she watched Kalri enter the room. The two women had become friends some time ago, but after what she had seen Kalri do today, Marola didn't think she would ever look at her quite the same again. "I though Jeriah was dead," Marola said, placing her blades back into their sheaths.

Kalri's eyes had a slightly distant look about them yet. Galbatorix was skilled at many things but healing was not an area in which he excelled. "The girl lives, though I don't understand by what magic. We fought in the hall outside of the throne room and the boy Lathem transported them away. All I know is Father wants them dealt with." She struggled to maintain focus of her eyes. Probably a result of a concussion sustained when the ceiling collapsed. She would have to suffer through its effects. Looking back to Marola she asked "Do you want to come along? Mar will be coming as well, if I can find him."

Mar emerged from a dark corner, walking closer to Kalri. "I'm right here," he said, sounding dark and menacing. Looking at Marola, he didn't even incline his head in respect. She was a rider, and no doubt despised him for his deeds.

"Father sends us on a mission. You shall come with me as always, and I have chosen Marola to accompany us. We seek the girl Jeriah and the boy, Lathem."

Mar nodded, leaving for the courtyard. "I'll go get things read, Kalri, then meet you two outside." He made way for the dragon hold, saddling Harp for the trip, making sure to pack extra supplies.

"Marola, if you don't want to come I understand." she knew her madness in the throne room had unsettled her friend. Sometimes the darkness within her unsettled her too. She knew she was capable of greater evil. It grew as did the powers she possessed. Soon she feared she would be unable to control either. "We shall meet in the courtyard in 30 minutes. The choice is yours." Kalri turned and walked back down the hall to her room near the back of the throne room.
