Trinn and Thora watched triumphantly as Locien and Sidhion plummeted. The fight would not be that easy, of course. Locien was healed and quickly returned to the fray, and Thora roared out at him, eager to lock with him again. Before Trinn could hold her back, she bolted, eager to sink her teeth into his flesh again. Trinn shook her head, trying to clear away her own battle fury. In an instant Thora was roaring in pain, and they were no longer able to fly straight at Sidhion but fell in dizzying, fluttering circles. Sidhion's spell had managed to break through Trinn's wards, and now Thora suffered from a snapped leg and a twisted wing. Drawing on the raw force of the emerald, Trinn muttered a healing spell, and with a loud cracking pop the leg snapped back in place, and the wing stretched into it's proper position. Thora whined in pain, but the cry became a snarl of fury as she snapped both wings down and sped back up towards Sidhion. Though before they had both desired to spare Locien and Sidhion's life, now they wanted more than ever his blood. The bloodlust of this fight was too intense, and the insult too personal. ***
Take off his shirt? Teodora blinked dumbly as she stared down at Tristan. Of course she would have to take off his shirt! Berating herself, she quickly but awkwardly removed the garment. The wound was now exposed to its true extent, and Teodora found her hope at his recovery diminish. She looked desperately up at Lucia. "Please save him." she begged, forgetting to be tough for once. ***
Eridor waited only as long as it took for Elaine to strap herself to the saddle before vaulting into the sky. He flew towards the cloud Viel had disappeared in. He was nearly upon it when the dragon herself came bursting out again, talons stretched out towards him. Eridor swiveled and swung his tail at her passing form. Viel hissed and rolled to the left, avoiding the hit. They circled each other then, looking for the best attack. Elaine and Vana also studied each other. They had fought before, but those were brief skirmishes. They would be able to test each other to the fullest now.

OOC: lol...maybe...lol I dunno! I'm hoping I don't have to figure it out until later...lol
Sidhion heard the cracking of bone and knew his spell had done the trick. He hated having to hurt them, but his goal could not be deterred! He had worked so long for it! Locien roared, bringing Sidhion back from his thoughts. He spotted two pillars of flame coming toward them. His eyes, stoic as ever stared as he and Locien felt the heat - even so far as they were. Trying to maintain his composure and emotions, Sidhion sighed. We cannot hold back any longer. We will show them why we are called Masters of the Ice. Sidhion and Locien muttered together at the same time. His eyes, flickering green once again, stared coldly at the oncoming flames. "Adurna" Sidhion conjured water from the air and clouds around them, bringing them into a long thick sheet of ice as the flames closed in on them. The impact was immense and it caused the ice to evaporate. Steam and water divided in a hiss, causing the airy battlefield to be clouded momentarily.
Locien's head turned toward Thora as she came swooping up again. The mighty dragon sensed the bloodlust within his old friend and knew that this would either end in capture or death. His mighty blue eyes stared out and in a flash, the ice dragon let out a stream of fire.
*** Romulus did not complain, but allowed the soldier to lead him to a magician or healer. His eyes gazed over to Teodora and Tristan, who was now being aided by an old couple. His eyes drew to the floor as guilt raged through him. I am sorry. Romulus knew that Tristan would not have an easy chance of recovery...he knew only because Sidhion knew.
*** "We are doing our best, dearie." Lucia said simply, trying to ignore the heartbreak in Teodora's voice. Azoth, or Tristan, whatever his name, was not doing well at all. He was badly wounded and his main veins had been sliced. The paste that she had provided would stop the bleeding and heal as much as it could, but Tristan was badly wounded. By some miracle or if they could have him suffer through magical healling, was the only point to truly ensure his recovery. Until then, all they could do was heal him to a point where it wasn't life threatening...for now. "We need to find a magician." Lucia informed Teodora. "He will have to suffer to heal." She told the woman, hoping she would understand. "Aye....where can we find one in this mess?" Seth asked, the Varden and Ismalian armies were being attacked. The majority of the magicians would be in battle or healing soldiers. "Do you know of any that are powerful enough to help him?" He asked Teodora.
*** Typhon jerked away from Stigandr, his throat bloody and his front legs were damaged severely. Kyler was no different. The young rider had cuts and bruises from the battle that Einar had given him. There was no doubt that Einar and Stigandr were superiour. It was even evident when they were of the Empire. "You must let us pass! We can defeat Sidhion!" "I cannot. If I let you in, you are going to do more damage than good. Trust in Tismri and Trinn to handle him." Einar told his friend, a cut on his face was visible from where Kyler had struck out earlier. "NO! He is our's to kill! He's done much to us!" Kyler yelled. "No! You are blinded by your anger and hate for the man. You're only going to get yourself killed." "WE WANT OUR REVENGE! HE TOOK EVERYTHING FROM US!" Kyler screamed. Einar watched Kyler with a steady gaze. He knew what Kyler had suffered. For the months they had spent traveling with the man and dragon, Tristan and himself were able to get to know a lot of what Kyler endured for the months he spent with Sidhion. The man was nothing more than a monster...a monster that was no different from Galbatorix. Einar understood well of Kyler's hate. "Don't loose yourself Kyler. You have a good heart. Be thankful of what you have." "And what is that?!" Kyler seethed out, his anger blinding him. "Love. You love Typhon and this woman, do you not?" Einar informed him, unaware that Vana was his lover. Kyler felt like a ice had encompassed his body. Einar was right...he had Typhon...and especially, he had Vana. But still, his revenge against Sidhion was evident. "Don't go down this path, Kyler. I know. It will only consume your soul." Einar watched as Kyler's eyes calculated his options.
*** Slade laughed with glee as a pillar of fire spread across the Varden. Who dares to challenge the black dragon? Slade challenged in the sky while Selene shot arrows down at the Varden troops.

Tismri watched as Sidhion and Locien conjured a wall of thick, nearly impenitible ice to guard themselves from her and Ismrolde's flames. As it was, the ice would never met with only the power they were putting into it. Ismrolde, Tismri spoke to her bond. The copper dragon knew what Tismri wanted and flew closer. Tismri had a difficult time balancing where she stood on Ismrolde's head, but she put most of her concentration into her flames. She drew heavily upon the power of the Emerald and worked to make her flames even more powerful and at the same time more compressed, until it was a line no thicker than a penstroke. With the power put into the flame, the spell acted like a knife to slice through the ice. Sidhion's power was indeed great, for despite her power, it still took Tismri several long, agonizing moments to carve through the ice, and she still hadn't broken through. Through the trasparent sheet of ice, she saw Locien turn to face Thora. Tismri watched on in disbelief at the sight before her, sensing the pure bloodlust radiating from both Trinn and Thora, as well as from Sidhion and Locien. She momentarily slowed the force of her fire and stared for a moment. How has it come to this? she asked Ismrolde, mourning for what had once been.

Midnight watched as a blast of fire demolished some rows of varden soldiers, then spotted another black dragon like himself who the fire must have come from. A moment later he heard his challenge mentally, and Amber, whom was in the lead, replied with a challenging roar and a blast of fire aimed at his face.
Amber closed her jaws as she ended the huge flame, then watched as it headed for the black dragon. Amber noticed that he looked strangely like Midnight, but Midnight was more of a jet black and almost reflective in the light. She had blown the flame not to be as an attack, but more to annoy and challenge him. She knew the rider would probably have some kind of wards on his bond, or the dragon would dodge.

The first people who came to mind were the ancients, and then Tenal Ka. Teodora fumed inwardly, well aware that they were all preoccupied in fending off Sidhion and the sudden Empire attack. "The Varden magicians." She said, thinking of Du Vranga Gatta (sp?). "I know a couple of them, they should be able to help!" Especially that annoying vixen Meera. Grabbing under Tristan's arms, she hauled him and herself to their feet. Shifting a bit, she managed to get one of his arms around her shoulder, and she supported him that way as she began carefully to make her way towards the magicians tents. It was an intimidating walk. Smoke floated up towards the sky in that direction, and she prayed that the magicians were still in one piece. ***
Trinn waved a hand and thought a spell, and the fire that rolled towards them passed by harmlessly. Thora continued at her breakneck pace and rammed into Locien. She battered at his wings with her tail and snapped at his neck with her fangs. Trinn, who's eyes had taken on a reddish tint from the emerald's power, held tightly to Vanta, waiting for the chance to strike. (OOC: I can't remember if she has the red or yellow emerald...) ***
Nasuada dashed outside to see for herself the attack. Her eyes widened when she beheld smoldering tents and burnt corpses. The smell was repugnant, but she withheld from wrinkling her nose. "My Lady! We need to get you someplace safe! The empire soldiers are almost upon us!" a nighthawk warned, taking a bold action by placing a firm hand on her arm.
"Release me!" She barked at him, glaring, and he quickly let go of her arm. "I shall not run now, that would be foolish. The open plains are a death wish now. Better to stay here and fight it out." Looking about, she spotted two commanders nearby. "You two! Arrange the battalions as fast as you can and prepare a defense! Ring our camp and hold out as long as you can!" She eyed the skies, watching in some amazement as dragons ascended into the sky, quick to the fight. She was more relieved to see that the Varden riders looked to far outnumber the Empire riders. But those Empire riders were not new to battle, nor to killing and tactics. Vana and Selene could easily take down the Varden's newer riders, and some of the not so new ones. Fighting down her trepidation, Nasuada continued shouting orders, doing her best to keep a calm mind.

Mammon flew low on Baal's back, he knew that few of the ancients would recognize him as his old name. "Now is the time, now is our time to show them all what we have achieved." Mammon thought as his mind brought him back to a memory of Hreinteinn as a young rider, having only been there a few decades his Master Jaygon taught him dark magic slowly as to avoid corruption. This made him weaker in spell casting then his peers, they often taunted him about it too. But what hurt Hreinteinn then, fueled Mammon now, he would make it his personal goal to bring back as many rider skulls as possible. "Head towards Sidhion, Trismri, and Trinn." Mammon barked at Baal "Why?" Baal questioned worried about his bond's sanity. "We are going to settle a score is why." He yelled, his voice seething with hatred and malice.
"Do you remember me? Do you remember the young elf you consistantly taunted? He is still a bit hurt from that you know...now he is going to slaughter all of you." Mammon screamed at the trio as his yellow eyes slowly slipped into a black color, a sign of the magics corruption and Mammon's well of power. "Tonight, chaos, darkness, and death reign supreme. I will crush your hopes and destroy your dreams, I have become what men and women fear. I am the embodiment of death, are you prepared?" Mammon continued at the trio the obvious rage and insanity in his voice, but also the terrible power that was boiling over.
"He isn't himself anymore..." Baal thought despairingly as he flew towards the three who once he called companions, even friends, now everything changed. Baals only hope was that somewhere deep inside Hreinteinn was still alive, still fighting, and waiting for a time to resurface. "He has found a way to manipulate his life stream, however if you cut him down he won't be able to harm anyone for a set amount of time. You must remove us from the battle, he will Target the young riders, he will slaughter the young and the weaker then him. Hreinteinn, the elf we all once loves is gone...his alternate Mammon is what remains." Baal warned the trio as they clashed. "He won't stay dead for long but remove us from this battle, I cannot kill younglings." Baal pleaded with them, knowing that the trio would overpower Mammon, even at night, in his element.

OOC: lol. I forgot...but I think red?
Locien's throat rolled out a series of growls as he slammed against Thora. Once again they were engaged in battle and the massive dragon snapped eagerly and defensively at Thora's neck. Sidhion, jostled by the impact of the dragons nearly fell. He managed to catch himself and was surprised to see Tismri's copper flames erupt toward them. He thought his ice sheet had stopped it all, but there it was, streaming toward them. Or more precisely, at him.
He momentarily stared at Trinn, a mixture of feelings flooded him as their dragons battled. Time seemed to slow for Sidhion as he realized what was happening. His pride had led him to his downfall. He did not expect Trinn or Tismri to have emeralds. He didn't calculate his memories interfering, or more importantly, his feelings. He held a spell on his mouth as he stared at Trinn, having an advantangeous angle, as he stood against Locien's neck and she, strapped to her saddle. He lifted his hand, a green glow, at her. He glanced askance to the copper flame and then back at Trinn. A thin smile formed on his lips as he lowered his hand from her. The spell remaining unuttered. He turned. SIDHION! DON'T! Locien's voice screamed out, realizing what his rider was doing. NO! I am sorry you were paired to an unpure one like me, Locien. Forgive me. Sidhoin had time to say as he turned to face his wyrda. Turned to face the copper flame that hit him square into his chest. Sidhion's body flew off of Locien and the elf made no attempt to stop his fall. "SIDHION!!![/i] Locien's pained voice echoed through the camp, as he tried to scramble away from Thora's grasp so he could save his rider.
*** "Quickly then!" Lucia and Seth helped Teodora to lift Tristan as they went to find a magician that could help the ailing prince.
*** Arya, quick as always, was by Lady Nasuada's side, shielding her and the others from the flames that shot through the sky. The elf stared out into the sky, at the battles that were being waged by riders. She wondered where Eragon was and if Murtagh was going to join this endless fray of bloodshed. She glanced at Lady Nasuada. "It appears the west side is more vulnerable." She pointed to where Viel had caused severe damage. "I see warriors coming toward us from there." She informed the Varden leader.
*** Slade roared with menace as a jet black dragon accepted his challenge. You will make a great prey! He laughed. Quickly, Slade. Selene told her dragon bond as she holstered her bow and pulled out her notoriously large claymore. She stared at Amber and Midnight with a stoic face, her features betraying nothing of her lust for blood. Slade charged.

Tismri felt relieved as her fire finally broke through, before Trinn and Sidhion managed to somehow kill each other. Now he would have to divide his attention between the two of them again, which would give them an advantage. The ice shattered as Tismri's spell struck Sidhion right on target. Tismri was caught off guard; he could have easily avoided it, and she had no clue why he didn't. It took her a moment to realize that he'd given up on any chance of winning, and it seemed he'd chosen to die rather than face them. Ismrolde! she thought, and the copper dragon sailed through the air, speeding to where the elf was falling, while Tismri ended her fire spell. Ismrolde flew underneath Sidhion, and Tismri reached up to catch him. She held the elf securely, both to make sure he didn't fall or attempt to escape. "You're a stubborn, selfish fool," she informed him as Ismrolde circled to land. Tismri continued to be on guard, in case Sidhion attempted to use his Emerald against her. At the same time, she reached out her mind to Trinn. It's over, friend. He has submitted, so let your bloodlust go. She was concerned over the uncontrolable rage she felt from her friend, and hoped Trinn and Thora would be able to get ahold of themselves before more damage was done.

Baal and Mammon slammed into Trinn and Thora, "Remember me?" Mammon shouted to her with a satanic laugh. He took a swing at her throat with Freohr as Baal snapped at her throat. "I am sorry for this." Baal whispered in their minds. "Die, you all must die." He screamed as his strokes fell frantic and wild. Mammon's blackened eyes were burning with hatred.

Trinn felt locked by Sidhion's gaze. She prepared herself for an attack, even while Thora and Locien tore at each other. Then, in a fiery flash, Sidhion was gone from his dragon's back, and he was plummeting through the sky. Trinn suddenly felt appalled, the emotion pulling down her furious rage. Blinking, she watched in dismay as Sidhion fell, and did not save himself. She winced to hear Locien cry's of anguish, yet Thora did not release him. Her bond was bent on taking Locien's life in her bloodlust. Trinn flinched against Tismri's mental touch, until she realized it was her friend seeking to convey a message.
Submitted? I will calm Thora, though this is the worst sort of bloody fervor I've ever seen her in. I think the emerald has something to do with it. she added, and grimaced at the thought of the gem. The cursed things were better off buried deep underground where no one could ever touch them again.
Thora! Release Locien, Sidhion has submitted! The fight is over! She shouted at Thora, yet her bond seemed ignorant to her voice. Trinn pounded a fist against Thora's thick neck, though it was hardly noticed. Do you want to kill our friends!? Remember who you are, Thora! Remember our true purpose of being! That seemed to have some effect. Thora's thrashing calmed, and a moment later she detached herself from Locien. Her wings were bloody, as well as her body, a mix of her and Locien's blood splattered everywhere. Thora circled Locien, more herself, but still longing for a fight. Trinn groaned as another challenge rose up to them. Thora swiveled suddenly, displaying her surprising agility. Trinn's eyes widened at the sight of Heirninn. He was alive? Thora flew to meet them, happy to oblige Baal's pleas. Releasing a roar, she charged against Baal. Feeling she had no choice, Trinn reluctantly embraced the red emeralds power once more.
She realized quickly that it was good she had. The dark magic Mammon had practiced so long ago was now in full control. It had taken possession. "I remember you well!" Trinn retorted, her eyes turning a hazy red as she drew the power from the emerald. "Mammon, whoever you are, you will fall!" Quickly, with no more time for words, Trinn whipped up Vanta and blocked the jab at her neck. Thora growled, and attacked Baal with renewed fervor. ***
Meera stood just outside her tent, near the magicians larger dwelling. She wrung her hands, unsure what to do. The attacks had come so suddenly, and the Varden had not planned at all for it! She began to walk off towards the forming ranks, to make use of her magic there, when she caught sight of a group hurrying her way. Immediately she recognized Tristan and Teodora. The Ismalian women seemed changed somehow, and Meera thought wryly that the girl's odd show of emotion proved she was actually human.
"Meera!" Teodora greeted in a anxious voice. "Tristan! He must be healed! He has suffered fatal wounds."
"Here, come in here." Meera said, sensing the urgency of the situation. She gestured to the tent she had just vacated and entered herself. "Put him here," and she pointed to her bed. Placing her hands on her hips, she watched as Teodora and two old folk ambled in and placed Tristan down. "I'll do my best. However, as you are well aware, magic does not work the way it normally does for you Ismalians. There's a chance that I may only make things worse..." she glanced at Teodora, waiting for a response. The woman had crossed her arms and was staring intently at Tristan. Were those tears?
"I know. But what other choice do we have?" she said, shaking her head. Meera nodded, understanding. Kneeling beside the bed, she placed her hands on Tristan's bare skin and closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath, she said confidently, "Waise heill!" Energy poured out from her as she strove to heal the wounds that Tristan had suffered. ***
Nasuada looked to where Arya pointed. "The elves are more mobile than the human soldiers. Quickly, gather your kin and get them to that area! We must cover all our weak spots!"

"I can smell the darkness in you, why do you suppress it so much? You will be so much stronger when you just give in, Master Jaygon was wrong for teaching light magic too. I showed that when I forced Hreinteinn to butcher his sister, the apprentice of light. You were friends with her, weren't you?" Mammon taughted Trinn as he swung his blade with suprising speed and strength. "I have made that boy so much stronger then you could ever imagine." Mammon screamed at her

"It will be done." Arya had time to say before she sped off to gather her kin. Spotting those that were nearby, she gathered a small number and raced toward the battle, her sword at the ready.
*** Lucia and Seth nodded to Meera as she spoke of Tristan's blood. "He has better chance with magic than what we've given him." Lucia told Meera, having recognized her when she had visited them in Freia. She absently wondered where that handsome boy was.
*** Tristan bucked from the pain as Meera began to heal him. It was a searing pain that sliced through his chest and back. His skin was beginning to sew itself back together, but it was one of the most painful things he had ever experienced. It reminded him of the time when Elaine tried to heal him. He continued to buck and scream, trying to get away from the pain. His eyes were shut as he cringed in pain. He wished it would end. "Agh! Stop! Stop it!" He pleaded, a trickle of tears escaped his eyes. "Please!" He begged, not understanding that they were healing him. His skin continued to mend as the burning sensations continued. Finally, as the last piece of skin stitched itself together, Tristan felt a moment of peace. But soon, he was once again feeling pain as his body was under severe stress. "Teo...dora..." He muttered before passing out.
*** Sidhion's chest flowed with blood and he was vaguely aware of being caught by someone. Half livid, he thought he heard a challenge being issued by a familiar voice. But it didn't register. The only thing he remembered was Locien's pleas as he escaped from Thora and rushed to his Rider's side. Foolish elf! He yelled at his Rider, realizing that they had chosen to be captured. Bloodied and exhausted, Locien turned to Tismri. We concede. He told her, his voice pleading for her to heal Sidhion. The emerald is in his side satchel. He informed her.

Tismri gently lowered Sidhion to the ground, even as Locien approached. She heard the desperation in the dragon's voice as he conceded to her. Sidhion was badly injured, she knew. She placed her hand over his wound. "Waise heil," she said as she repaired the damage she had caused to her friend. With her free hand, she reached into the satchel the dragon had indicated. Her hand made contact with the green emerald, and a rush of power, combined with the yellow gem to which she was connected, nearly overwhelmed her. How Tenel Ka could stand to hold three at a time was beyond Tismri's imagination. She quickly placed it in her own pack that was slung over her shoulder while she tended to the elf before her. She gazed at Sidhion sadly as distant memories flashed through her mind. She looked up at the icy dragon above her. Locien, she asked. Her sorrow and confusion were evident in her voice. What happened to him? What drove him to do this?

"This battle isn't yours, leave now, or I can kill you too." Mammon shouted at Jaygon as he stood up on Baal's back and walked towards Jaygon, darkness seemingly pouring from his every molecule. It was something about this battle that had put him on his prime, brought him to a power level he had never experienced before, he was powerful, more powerful then he had ever been before. "You are nothing to me, you are weak, you are pitiful, and most of all you held Hreinteinn back from his true destiny. You see through me, him and I will bring a darkness to this land. Together I will see chaos blanket everything and everyone. I will smother the light from your eyes, I will watch you die." Mammon screamed as he with his mind cast a spell shoving Jaygon from Baal's back and freezing up his wings. "May the gods save you Jaygon the Ilsingr." Mammon whispered as he returned his attention to Trinn "Sorry for that interruption, where were we? Oh that is right! I was going to bleed you dry." Mammon said as a small smirk crept across his twisted and darkened face.
