Faolan nodded. "You have grown in stature and in wisdom." He thought for a moment. "You are aware of the distant battle that is to come between the Varden and the Empire? Are you also aware that a new generation of Riders have been born? It is time for our race to gather and ally ourselves with the Varden and Dragon Riders once again to defeat the false King. As I speak, Princess Arya is returning to the Varden to help the cause? Can I count on you to help those in need?" He asked Taran with his piercing blue eyes.

Taran looked away, at the green trees, the beauty. "If I do nothing," he said aloud. "All this will vanish. I may not be the most skilled with the sword, nor in magic, but I will lend my strength to the people whenever it is needed."

"A wise answer." Faolan looked toward Ellesmera. "If you choose to go to Ellesmera, I wish that you will seek Arya and tell her of our meeting. She will be most pleased with your assistance. As for me, I currently trek to seek where my beloved is, for she was taken and I know not by what. At the moment, the Varden has the full assistance they need, so you may accompany me if you wish. For I too, would be grateful for your help. I leave the chose to you."

Taran thought for a long moment. Ahead lay Ellesmera, his home, his birthplace....sorrow. With Faolan lay chances for a different life. A life with a purpose, a life worth living. "If you wouldn't mind, I would like to accompany you. There are too many sad memories for me in Ellesmera."

"I understand that sorrow as well, except for me, it everywhere." He didn't elaborate. "I am glad of your company. Perhaps we will both find the peace that we seek." He stroked Jade, who momentarily felt like she was being ignored and tried to snip him. "I am headed to Gil'ead and then to Teirm. I believe that the traders will tell me something."

Taran felt grateful and relieved at Faolan accepting him as a traveling companion. "Very well, you lead and I will follow."

Faolan bowed his head respectively to the young elf. "Then to Gil'ead." He resumed his quest hoping to find that which he sought so desperately.
OOC: Hmm...im thinking about finally bringing Tara into the story..hmmm however, I still haven't decided what to do with her...hmm...i must ponder some more, I shall.

Taran mounted his horse, Narth, and followed closely to Faolan, enjoying the breaze and soft rustle of leaves flowing throughout the forest.

Faolan headed in the direction of Gil'ead admiring the view around him. He would miss the forest and the comfort it brought, but he looked forward to finding any news of his beloved. As they traveled, Faolan, wanted to know a little more of Taran and where he had been over the years. "Tell me, Taran, for I wonder to know. Where have you been these past years?" He let Jade fly for a moment, knowing she grew hungry and wanted to hunt. He watched his trusted companion as he addressed Taran.

Taran lowered his head with the weight of the memories as Faolan asked him of his past. "Well, I've been here and there, but mostly there," he said with a wry smile. "After my family was killed, I focused my life on...a less savory objective. I wanted revenge, I wanted to free my family from Reka. I dedicated my life to mastering the sword and the magic needed to destroy the shade. I traveled far and wide, even becoming a sailor for a ship birthed in Surda. I spent what seemed like a lifetime tracking that shade down, all the while watching and learning about the world around me. Once my vow was complete, I put myself to the task of wandering the world, inglorious as it may be."

'Domia it's going to be nice, being home for awhile. It seems like ages since I've seen Ceunon. Do you think they'll be surprised when we arrive?' 'I think that surprised will be an understatement! Afterall it has been almost a year.'
Elyria smiled. Home. The warmth of the feelings the word evoked made her spirit soar higher than the emerald green dragon could fly. She set her sight on the landscape ahead as they travelled. 'I think we should stop outside of Lake Isenstar near Gil'ead. That will give us a chance to rest and stretch our legs a bit. Okay?' 'That's fine with me. I could do with a little rest.'
She smiled again whispering..."Home"

"I admire you for accomplishing your oath and for ridding the world of a great evil. Despite my own reservations on killing, I am proud of you nonetheless, and I know that your family is as well." He eyed his hawk, who was now flying north, out of their view. "We should be out of the Du Weldenvarden soon." He noted.

Taran looked to the tree tops, letting the slight breeze blow through his long hair. "Thank you, Faolan, truly. Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing.."

Domia and Elyria set up camp at the mouth of the Ramr River where it met with Lake Isenstar, outside of Gil'ead. Lying against Domia's side enjoying taking in the sights and sounds of the lake, Elyria thought back to her childhood in Ceunon. She had been happy and loved by a couple who took her in and raised her as their own. Their only daughter. When she came of age they had told her of her past, at least what they knew, which wasn't much. They had been travelling back to Ceunon from a trip to Kuasta when they happened upon her. They had heard something along the trail, a faint cry. Investigating further, they found the baby, wrapped in a brilliant emerald blanket of the finest cloth they had ever seen. Looking around they saw no signs of anyone. Natal, her mother, picked her up and she and Hern took her as their own. 'I wonder why I was left Dom. I wonder who my parents are and what could possibly have happened to them to cause them to abandon me.' Domia looked at her sending her care and concern. 'I don't know child. Perhaps one day the mysteries will unravel themselves at your feet. All things reveal themselves in time.' She smiled at him. 'I know they do my most trusted and dearest friend.' She laid her head back against the emerald green scales of his side and closed her eyes.

Elianora watched the two lone figures from across Isenstar with interest. She'd just come down from Du Weldenvarden and sat exhausted from her journey. So she watched the bonded pair, and waited for her strength to return.
"You cannot pass within." The words echoed up from the depths of her mind where she sent them away. The pain returned along with the memory and she groaned. "Born in the forest, and denied my birthright," she sighed. "Well, it could be worse."
After awhile she got up and made her way around the lake, using magic to aid her. She really wanted to know why a dragon and rider were here in the Empire, for they didn't look like the king's men, but she had to find out.
