A Reunion of Friends

"Yeah, I remember," Max said as he opened the front door to the manor and held it open for Marola,"After you, madam."
He grinned, at her, winking.

"Thank you, kind sir," Marola said, walking through the door. She smirked at his wink, then waited for him to put his plan in action.

"All right," Max said, bending down and grabbing a couple of rocks from the ground and juggling them in one hand,"Plan is, I throw a rock, hit a guard in the head. You throw one and do the same. Then I throw the third and we break. Got it?"

[Tismri]

"Sounds good," Marola said, plucking one of Max's rocks out of the air as he juggled them around. She reminded herself of her elven abilities and had to tell herself to keep from throwing the stone too hard.

"All right, then," Max said, juggling the remaining two rocks. As one of them hit his hand, he tossed it at a nearby guard, grinning,"Hey, you can heads! Come on!"
He grinned and winked over at Marola.

Marola shook her head slightly at Max's promting, then tossed her own rock. It landed soundly on the guard's helmet and left a sizable dent in it.
"Whoops! How did that happen?" she asked.

Max laughed out loud as he tossed his last rock, accidentally hitting a guard square in the face where his helmet didn't protect him.
" hahaha! Run!" he said, pushing Marola off to their left, laughing.

Marola laughed out loud as she sprinted away. She was going only a fraction of her top speed, just enough to let the guards follow after her for a while.

Max ran along just behind Marola, keeping pace with her rather well as they ducked down an alleyway, several guards giving chase.
"Go go go!" he said, waving them both onward, laughing.

[Tismri]

Marola smiled, not even breathing heavily. She heard the guards after them, knowing she could get away from them easily at any second.
One more turn, and then I'll run full-speed, she thought. She laughed at Max's urging her onward.
"Ready to really run?" she asked him as the end of the alley came up quickly. The instant she turned, she went at a full run, leaving the guards--and Max--far behind a few seconds later.

"What the hell?" Max said, eyes widening as Marola took off around the corner, leaving him behind,"Dammit!"
He started pumping his legs as hard as he could, running as fast as he could,, tryin to catch up to her, following her as best he could.

Marola was clear on the other side of the city in less than five minutes. She stopped just outside the gate, not even breathing hard. She was glad of her elven skills, but they still took some getting used to after all this time. She glanced back through the streets.
Maxel's probably wondering where I went, she thought amused. Well, we know where to meet whenever he loses those guards. She walked through the city at an easy pace, just thinking for a while. She had seen something about Max while he was at her house. He had a secret and she knew what it was.

Max ran throguh alleyways and streest of Gil'ead, using his streat roaming days as a kid to his advantage. They had changed slightly, but that didn't stop him. He used what limited magical knowlege he had gotten from Allanon to help him, easily evading the guards at every turn.
Eventually, he lost them and they lost interest in the chase, going back to their posts as he made his way back to the agreed meeting point with Marola.
"That was fun," he said, grinning and laughing as he reached the spot to sit and wait for Marola to arrive.

Marola soon arrived to the spot, dropping down in front of Max.
"Glad to see you got away safely," she told him, grinning.

"Of course," Max said, grinning at Marola as she dropped down in front of him,"Couldn't let them catch me, could I?"
He grinned, laughing,"So...what now? Dinner, I guess?"
