Marola watched as Tyr paced. She heard him mutter to himself. "Don't forget, he's my son too." She slightly began to wonder if she had made a mistake in telling him. She stared at him, wondering what all was going through his mind. She couldn't quite figure out his reaction. She had expected shock, of course, then anger and denial. Not this continuous stream of indecipherable mutterings. What does he want? she wondered. ~~~~~ Jeriah heard Einar ask about where the others had gone and looked around. They were nowhere to be seen. "I don't know," she said, "Do you want to go look for them?" She shifted suddenly, aware of an all-too-familiar presence nearby. Won't you ever give up? she thought. ~~~~~ Kyrron crept quietly through the forest, stealthily making his way to the light. He had heard what happened to Jeriah, but had never seen himself. From behind a tree, he looked at the light, seeing Jeriah standing there, in her Varden uniform. He gripped one of his daggers, planning on how he would get to her. He noticed another man with her, one he may have recognized, but it was hard to tell because of the mask he wore. He really didn't care. For years, Kyrron had been trying to get Jeriah. He had to take her to the king. Galbatorix would surely reward him with his trust after delivering the girl who had died...the one who got away.

Mar shook his head as a tear formed in his eye. "No, love," he said, holding her tight. "You will not die. Prophesy and visions are not always true. You have no destiny except what you make it. I love you, and now that you risked everything to free me you're going to let yourself die?!?" He cried against her shoulder, holding her as a hurt child does its mother.

Kalri held tight to him as she comforted him. "Some visions are not ours to change. I walked upon the path that leads me here long ago. I do not choose to die Mar. If left the choice I would stay with you forever. Some things are beyond are control." She lifted his face as she kissed his lips. "I love you," she told him as she held tightly to him. Her eyes closing as she felt her want. "They are within the forest. They will find us and I will be taken. I have seen these things."

Mar stopped the tears, sitting up to look deeply into her eyes. "I love you," he said softly. "You know that. I will not leave you to die alone. Even in death, I wish to stay with you. Forever."

Kalri held his face within her hands. "I do not want you to die my love. No matter what happens, when the time comes...promise me that you will not follow."

Mar shook his head. "I cannot promise that, my love," he said. "You know I can't. I love you. I want to die with you at my side. Life without you here with me, without being able to look into your eyes every second I live, is pointless. It has not purpose without you in it, my love."

A devious smile formed on the human's lips as he finally realized what an opportunity this presented. A son...born of magic and of a Rider...the King will be pleased to learn of this...and I may receive an apprentice....one who will destroy all who oppose the King. He stopped pacing and smiled at Marola. She may pose a problem...but I will have my son. "Aye. He is. This is wonderful news." He walked closer to Marola. "Now I understand why I was called for." He eyed Marola.
*** He glanced at Jeriah for a moment, the brightness beginning to become annoying. "They know what they need to do. We will leave you soon." Was all that Einar replied, annoyed that it was taking them longer to find Kalri.

Marola stared at Tyr as he came closer, not liking the look in his eyes, though his smile was pleasant. Her hands went almost protectively to her stomach as she heard him speak. "Called? What do you mean?" She leaned back against the tree behind her to get some space between herself and Tyr. OOC: when she finds out what he's planning, he's not gonna lay one finger on the kid! lol! ~~~~~ Jeriah nodded, partially distracted now. "All right, then. If you will excuse me, something just came up." She turned and walked to the tree Kyrron was hiding behind, shooting a glare at him as she walked past, knowing he would most likely follow her.

Tyr's smile never faded. "Whether you believe me or not, you did call for me when you attempted your dramatic farewell." He inched closer, trying to seduce her in his charming way. "It's fate, don't you see? We were meant for one another. This." He placed a hand on her stomach gently, "was meant to happen." He faked a sincere smile.
OOC: hehe we shall see...lol.

Marola's eyes narrowed at Tyr as he spoke, for once in her life not falling for his lies. His words sounded sincere enough, but when she looked in his eyes, she saw a greedy look in them. He wants something, I know it... The thought rang in her mind. When he placed his hand on her stomach, she stiffened. "I don't believe you, Tyr," she declared, sliding around the tree to get away from him. "I know you've never cared anything for me. What are you playing at? What do you want?"

Tyr feigned a hurt and shock look. "How can you think that? I want only what is best for you and the child." His eyes followed her as she slid away from his arms. "This isn't a game, Marola. You're about to have a baby...our son. I want what any father wants...to have a happy little quaint family." He smiled. "I know that may seem ridiculous, coming from me, but I have to say, Rola, I am extremely glad of this. Aren't you? Wasn't this what you wanted? To have me?" He eyed her slowly...waiting for a reaction.

"What I wanted? What I wanted?!" Marola was getting close to enraged. "If you ever cared anything about what I wanted, you would never have even left me the first time. After that, you wouldn't have convinced me to send Caleb away, which I never wanted to do. How can you look me in the eyes and say you ever cared about me? That you care about me right now?" Tears seeped out of her eyes as she shrieked out her accusations, disturbing the forest with the intensity of her cries. She turned away from Tyr and in a softer voice said, "And what do you care of our son? My son?" OOC: wow...she's getting nearly hysterical...lol.

Caleb got up slowly from the tree he was slumped against. "What did I do?" he asked. Suddenly he felt a rush of emotions from Marola and he ran over to see Tyr standing there, and Marola almost crying. "Get away from her you filthy dog!!" he screamed, drawing his blade preparing to fight for his love.

"Cruelty to be kind, Marola. Remember that well. If I had not intervened, you would have suffered far greater." His eyes glimmered knowingly, but he refused to elaborate. "As for our child, he will have the love his father possesses." Though lacking it is...it is all I can give.
Tyr sneered as he heard Caleb's voice. "Watch your tongue peasant or I will shear it off!" Tyr turned around in a swift motion with his longsword already drawn at the ready. "Did none teach you manners, boy!?" He growled.

Marola grew angrier when Tyr began speaking about love. What do you know about love? she though viciously, You've never had love in your life! When Tyr turned to face Caleb, Marola noticed him as well. She smiled slightly, then felt her heart well up with a sense of betrayal, knowing she loved Caleb...but she was the mother of another man's child now. Her eyes welled wit htears at the realization. She turned away for a few seconds, unable to look at either of them.
