Love is a Battle Worth Winning

Marie stared into the blue depth of the gem she had stored countless energy in, it's blue shine was brighter than other gems in a way that it seemed to grin at her. She took the string on it and put it back around her neck. Marie turned around to look at Amber when she made a little growl noise and seemed to have caught a groundhog. She gulped it down in one swallow, then sat letting her orange scales shine in the sun as if she were the sun itself.

Baviel walked around Surda, his hand brushing the hilt of Bislekar absently, gazing off into the distance from the boredom he faced. While walking around his thoughts absently went to Marie and wondered if she was fairing better then he was, so he began casting his mind for Marie and Amber. As he casted his mind he eventually brushed against Marie's and Amber's minds, being sure as to merely brush their minds and not enter their thoughts, he found where they were and retreated back into his mind and began walking in their direction.

After a few minutes he finally found Marie and Amber, approaching Marie from behind and poked at her shoulder with a calm smile while saying, "A pleasure seeing you as always." letting a soft laugh escape his lips as he gazed at Amber with a amused smile gazing at her golden orange scales glisten off the afternoon sun.

Marie turned around, obviously not surprised. "Greetings, Baviel." She gave a little laugh. "Not so easy to sneak up on an elf, is it?" She joked. "So, what brings you here?" She asked Baviel, while Amber sneaked up on him to flick him lightly with her tail.

Jason grinned when he saw the silver hilt of his sword tucked in the grass behind a rock. Found it. He announced. You're going to have to try harder than that next time. He placed his sword back in his belt with a smile as he saw the annoyed twitch of Midnight's tail.
You almost didn't find it that time. Midnight said.
Almost. Jason grinned. He started to walk back to his tent when he saw Baviel talking to Marie and thought he'd go say hi. He started to walk over with Midnight folowing him.

Baviel couldn't help, but to laugh at Marie's comment as he shrugged saying, "Hey can't help trying." He then felt a chill go down his spine when he felt something touch him from behind. He turned quickly to see Amber's tail close to his back. He turned his attention to the orange dragon, rolling his eyes at her, as he said, "Ha ha Amber truly funny." then began to laugh as he shook his head. When he heard Marie's comment he turned to her slightly saying, "I came here to see how you and Amber were doing, I haven't seen you both in a while, and I wanted to see you again."

He let a laughter of embarrassment as he absently brushed the diamond that was placed at the end of the pommel, with the countless energy that he and his bond gave it during their free time in the Varden. After a little more then a minute he looked at Marie wondering if she thought him a idiot in some way for his embarrassment. He then noticed someone approaching them and squinted his eyes to try and see who it was.

He smiled a little when he noticed it was Jason, so he raised a arm to wave at him as he said, "Hey Jason. What brings you here?" looking at him inquisitively as Jason got closer to them.

Amber gave a dragon-grin of amusement from Baviel's comment. Marie laughed and said "Well, i'm glad you came, because I was just about bored to death." She turned her head when she heard someone coming, and saw Baviel turn, too.
Jason waved while saying "I was around and thought i'd say hi."
"Hello Jason and Midnight." Marie said. Midnight nodded a hello.
"Hi." Jason said. Midnight walked over to Amber, and sat down beside her.

Baviel looked at Marie with a look of shock from Marie's statement, but then began to laugh at the comment saying, "Well you now have both Me and Jason now." giving a warm smile at her as he finished his sentence. He turned to Midnight and Jason saying, "At least you and Midnight are enjoying yourselves Jason, I would ask what you two have been up to, but it's none of my business."

He waved his hand dismissively to show he wasn't going to ask. He turned his attention to Marie and asked, "Marie... would you like to go do something with me? Whatever you prefer." Baviel gave a sheepish smile at her feeling a little embarrassed once more, glad his bond wasn't right near him to laugh at him for his actions and emotions.

He mentally sighed to himself as he looked between Amber and Midnight wondering how their bonding was going with their rightful riders. He reached out to Amber first asking her, Amber? How fairs your bonding with Marie? looking at her with curiosity as he waited for both Marie's and Amber's answers.

"Sure, what do you want to do, because I don't mind." Marie said giving a friendly smile.
"I hope it doesn't bother you, but may I come, too?" Jason asked, embarrassed.

Amber watched her rider making plans to do something with her friends, when thoughts wandering about what Baviel's bond was up to. Those thoughts were interupted when Baviel asked her a question. She looked at him with her blue eyes.
Quite good, we have been sharing memories. She replied.

OOC: his dragon is white. you could say he is a white as snow or as white as frost i guess lol but ya he is white btw Amber has blue eyes?

Baviel nodded at Amber smiling at her, glad for her that Marie and her are getting along good. He turned his attention to Marie, thinking about what to do, and said, "I don't know really, a walk around the forest? A flying trip around the camp? It's up to you." giving a friendly smile at her.

After a little he heard Jason ask if he wanted to come, turning to him with a curious look, and turned his attention back to Marie and asked, "Do you want him to come Marie?" As he asked her, he had his thoughts roam to Jason wondering why he wished to come. I can kinda understand he would wanna come because he wanted to hang with us, but his look was more of embarrassment by what I saw and not something like boredom...

He broke his thought process before it got outta hand and waited patiently for Marie's replies looking at both Midnight and Amber in turn to gaze at their majestic scales in wonder.

Amber looked at Baviel for a moment, then turned to Marie when he asked her something. "How about a flying trip? ...and sure, Jason, you can come." She replied. Amber seemed to perk up when Marie said 'flying', and Midnight slowly moved his tail back and forth. Jason nodded and smiled.
"Looks like they agree." He looked at the dragons.
Amber saw Baviel looking at her, and starting to feel self consious, she began to clean her scales. Marie chuckled to herself. Amber knew that if she were human, she would be blushing right now.

Baviel looked at Marie with a warm and friendly smile at her reply and said calmly, "It is agreed, we are to fly." he began to grin brightly at the thought and added in while contacting Shiroryuu as well, "I need to go saddle Shiroryuu before we depart for our ride, if you both are ready you can come with me, if not we can all meet back here then we can depart." As he finished he told Shiroryuu their plan feeling his bond's joy at the idea of flying.

Baviel Looked at both the dragons and their riders with a warm kind smile and then bowed at them to show that he was going to his bond, turned on his heels, then began walking to where he and his bond were temporarily encamped. After a few minutes he finally reached the place, and grinned as he saw his bond, and friend waiting for him in earnest. When he went to where his saddle was his bond mentally said, Baviel there is more to this then just a mere flying trip isn't it?

Baviel froze where he was and his bond continued, That I will take for a yes... Baviel what is the true reason why you wish to go on this trip? Baviel sighed and turned to look at his bond in one of his giant eyes and said, I... I wanted to get to know Marie a lot more then what I already know. Maybe even... I don't know maybe even become more then friends. It's a hope I doubt will happen, but it doesn't mean I can't try.

He then lowered his head in embarrassment and then went to grab the saddle. When he grabbed the saddle he heard his bond say, Baviel... It may be unwise to try and be more then friends with Marie, but I can't stop you from trying. Know this though, we share emotions and thoughts, so what you feel for her I feel in kind and vice versa. To be honest I have been feeling quite the same towards Amber. Baviel turned sharply towards Shiroryuu in shock, but then smiled in a wolfish grin while avoiding to laugh as he said, Indeed you do friend, but thus is life. Shall we get ready for our flight?

Shiroryuu nodded and Baviel walked over to his bond, saddling him, then jumped up into the saddle. When he was strapped into the saddle Baviel turned to look and see if Marie and Jason were there, if not he would take off to where he last spoke to them and meet with them in the air so they can go on their trip.

Marie and Jason bowed in turn, then went to their bonds. Marie checked Amber's saddle, tightening a strap or two. Marie glanced at Jason as he checked Midnight's sadle as well.
"So, when did you meet Baviel?" Jason asked. Marie was a bit shocked from the sudden question, and faced Amber so to not let him see her blushing.
"When I first came here. To join, that is. He was the first that I had met here. He helped me join the varden." She replied.
"I see." Marie waited for Jason to say more, but he did not. Marie recalled the time when she had been wanting to join, and Baviel had come to meet her.

Marie mounted Amber, and gripped the neck spike in front of her. She stared at the beautiful scales around her massive neck. Then, looked at Midnight and saw Jason was doing the same. Amber's tail was twitching at the anticipation of flight, and Marie felt her excitement growing as well.
I see you are excited to fly. Marie commented.
Indeed. Amber agreed joyfully. Marie knew that Baviel would be coming soon, and awaited his arrival.

Jason watched Midnight's excited movements while he waited for Baviel, and wondered where they would go. He hoped it would be over the forest or open grasslands. It would be a lot better than flying over a bunch of tents. He felt Midnight's agreement and smiled.

Baviel urged Shiroryuu to take flight and head to Marie and Jason, sense they didn't come with, and began fiddling with Bislekar gazing absently at the diamond that laid at the top of the pommel. As they flew to the spot he absently hummed the song his mother used to sing to him and his sister. While he was humming, Shiroryuu shook his head glaring at his rider with one of his giant eyes while mentally saying, Baviel why do you hum as such?

Hearing his bonds comment Baviel snapped out of it and said in return, Was I humming? Ha ha my apologies, what was I humming? Shiroryuu gave a mental sigh hiding his annoyance that his rider didn't pay attention to what he was doing, then mentally showed him a mental image of Baviel humming. When it was over Baviel nodded to himself then replied, Oh sorry Shiro that's just the tune of a song my mother sung to me when I was a mere child. It doesn't have much significance really.

Then Baviel went on to his humming aware of what he was humming this time, enjoying it, as they began landing where Marie and Jason were waiting. When they landed Baviel waved at the both of them then got off his saddle to walk to them while they were saddled. As he got closer to them he said, "If you don't mind we shall ride around the whole of the Surdan border, if you wish a little shorter trip I am amendable, but I thought it would be nice to at least see more then just the camp." he smiled with a joyful grin looking at all four of them hoping they liked the idea of the long trip.

"I would like to fly away from camp for once." Marie replied.
"It would be nice to have a good long flight." Jason commented.
"Well, then it is decided, Surdan border. Shall we go then?" Marie looked down at Amber who was extending her wings. She gave a flap, and was off the ground over Midnight as he also lifted into flight. Marie smiled as the sensation of flying overtook her. She looked back to make sure Baviel was coming before going too fast.

Baviel gave a grin at both of them, and hopped back on his saddle while Marie and Jason started taking off. When he got on his saddle, strapped down in the saddle, and felt his bond take off as fast as he could to catch up and then pass the other dragons. As his bond went a little faster, Baviel shouted in joy from the feeling of flight, and called out, "Come on guys lets have some fun!"

Baviel then laughed to himself as he felt the wind push against him from their flight as they flew to the Surdan border. As they flew he looked behind him and see if the others went to fly faster to keep up or play with Shiroryuu by trying to race with him. Shiroryuu turned his head to look at Baviel and gave him a draconic grin at the thought of a race.

While they flew on Baviel began humming the tune his mother sung to him once more, letting the tune ease his mind as memories of his family began filling his thoughts, one after another, letting the good and the bad equally show up so as not to be overcome with grief. Shiroryuu entered his mind afterwards sweeping the memories away and said gently, You can not dwell on the past Baviel, what's done is done, you got new memories and new people who care about you.

Shiroryuu then began showing memories of them together, both training and just playing around, missions that ended great or awful, and also meeting Marie and Jason as well. All of the memories Baviel began to appreciate as Shiroryuu shared them. As Shiroryuu finished Baviel also finished the tune he hummed and grinned as he said, You're right Shiro, I should move on... though I still like the tune, but I promise I won't dwell in the past. He heard his bond hum in gratitude at his reply, then Baviel turned his head to see where Marie and Jason were.

Amber saw Baviel and his bond fly past her, and gave a huge flap and zipped past them out of nowhere. Midnight had to flap hard to keep up with the two and flew past Shiroryuu. He felt something whack his face lightly and saw Amber's tail near his snout. Only then did he notice he had fallen back behind Shiroryuu. Marie gave an amused grin and Amber flew even faster, then disapeared in a low, thick cloud. Midnight looked around and flew back to second again. Jason looked up at the cloud. Amber was completly gone. There was no way Midnight could hide in a cloud like that. He'd stand out to much. Shiroryuu would be able to, though.
